Introduction
Welcome to Reality Alignment, the second module in the Copy Elite mindset course. In this module,
we’ll dive deeper into the concept of reality and how to align yourself with reality to accomplish your
goals.
This will be the most important course in the entire Copy Elite program. If you let it, it will
permanently change your life for the better. I hope you’re excited.
Quick Warning: This course will get deep. It will challenge your beliefs and the very core of your
being. (It wouldn’t be a very good mindset course if it didn’t haha).
My only ask is that you keep an open mind, including what you hear/learn from me, and always seek
the truth — not opinions.
With that out of the way, let’s dive in…
Perceived Reality vs. True Reality
As we discussed in the last module, when you search for truth, you’re seeking to understand reality
— the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea
of them.
When you make decisions based on reality, things play out how you expect them to. Everything
begins to ‘click’ — you set goals and actually achieve them.
- People click on your thumbnails.
- People respond to your ads.
- People open your emails.
- People reply to your outreach.
- People buy your stuff.
Operating in reality sounds great, and it is…
But there’s a problem:
As we discussed in Finding Truth, we aren’t God. Only God can understand true reality in its entirety.
(He created it & sustains it!)
Since we are limited in our human perception, we each have a ‘perceived’ reality which is how WE
see the world.
That’s what our decisions are actually based on — perceived reality.
If our perceived reality doesn’t align with true reality — confusion, chaos, & failure happen.
If our perceived reality aligns with true reality — clarity, order, & success happen.
***(Take note that reality NEVER changes.)
Reality Misalignment
Most people fail to succeed because how they think the world works (their perceived reality) doesn’t
match how the world actually works (true reality).
Their perceived reality is misaligned with true reality.
When your perceived reality doesn’t align with true reality, you make decisions/take actions you think
will get the outcome you want… but they don’t.
Common examples of misalignment:
- You think the key to long-term YouTube success is clickbait thumbnails & titles.
- You think you can write 3 mediocre emails a week and make $10k/m with copywriting.
- You think the secret to closing deals is becoming a stubborn master of objection handling &
manipulation. (Thanks Wolf of Wall Street!)
- You think edited videos attract a dumb audience, and raw videos attract sophisticated
viewers. (This is a real-world misalignment I had shattered this week!)
Let me simplify it with an analogy:
- You = Self-Driving Tesla
- Your Goal = The Star/Desired Destination
- Perceived Reality = Your Nav System/Map
- Reality = The Real World
Reality Misalignment Example: Reality Alignment Example:
Your map (perceived reality) decides how you navigate the world (the actions you take) and
ultimately decides where you end up (your results).
- Reality Misalignment: If the map you’re using to navigate life DOESN’T match reality, this
would explain your frustration, confusion, and lack of results.
- Reality Alignment: If the map you’re using to navigate life DOES match reality, you can see
the path and make correct decisions.
Don’t forget, you’re always going to THINK you’re operating in reality — even when you aren’t.
(Hence the self-driving part of this example.)
The goal of this course is to show you how to realize when your perceived reality is misaligned with
true reality and how to re-align it efficiently — Enabling you to make INSANE progress toward your
goals at lightning speeds!
Beliefs, Paradigms, and Perceived Reality
To understand how you can ‘shift’ your perceived reality, we need to discuss how your perceived
reality is formed:
Beliefs form your paradigms & paradigms form your perceived reality.
Ex: You have many beliefs about copywriting, these beliefs form your copywriting paradigm, this one
paradigm is a small part of your macro perception of reality.
Your beliefs are the core elements of your perceived reality.
You have beliefs about everything…
- Toothpaste
- Sports
- Copywriting
- Money
- Love
- College
- God
- Etc
Most people avoid addressing their beliefs because it sounds ‘woo-woo’ and not ‘tactical’ enough.
Tbh… that’s just another false belief lol.
Understanding your beliefs and how to change them is crucial to your long-term success.
Let me show you…
This is The Belief Cycle:
1. Belief: You hold a belief about something. (Positive OR Negative)
2. Action: You act in accordance with that belief. (Positive OR Negative)
3. Result: That usually nets a result that strengthens that belief. (Positive OR Negative)
As humans, we almost always act in accordance with our beliefs, those actions usually lead to a
result that further justifies the reason we have for holding the original belief.
The more this cycle repeats, the more polarized/solidified your beliefs become.
This can be extremely beneficial OR extremely dangerous based on your original beliefs.
If you have delusional/false beliefs (that don’t align with true reality), and you continue acting with
those beliefs, strengthening them further — you end up getting more and more delusional.
However, If you have correct/positive beliefs (that do align with true reality), and you continue acting
with those beliefs, strengthening them further — you end up getting more and more benefits.
Belief Cycle Examples:
1. You believe the Auburn Tigers are a great football team to be a fan of because your dad did.
2. You spend money to go to the stadium to watch them play live.
3. You fall in love with Auburn even more and strengthen your belief.
1. You believe people from 3rd world countries will never buy high-ticket programs.
2. You avoid sales calls with them and don’t treat them the same as Americans on sales calls.
3. Because you didn’t care about them on the call, they don’t buy. Further strengthening your
belief.
1. You believe that cold outreach doesn’t work for you.
2. You send a few low-effort outreaches without conviction.
3. You don’t get any clients further solidifying your belief that cold outreach doesn’t work.
1. You believe that you’re too ugly to get a girlfriend.
2. You avoid talking to girls, when you do talk to one you act weird and have no confidence.
3. You don’t get any attention from them, convincing yourself even more that you’re too ugly for
a girlfriend.
1. You believe you can make $100k/month online with enough time and effort.
2. You start building an online business and paying to be around people who are making big
money online.
3. You start buying courses, making some money, and seeing other people making TONS of
money online, further solidifying your belief that you can make $100k/m online.
1. You believe you’re good at drawing because your mom told you so when you were 5.
2. You start drawing anytime you have downtime at school, and you improve naturally.
3. Because you draw so much, you get better and better at drawing — further solidifying your
belief that you are good at drawing.
1. You believe that eating meat cures anxiety and carbs are killing you.
2. You start eating more beef and less carbs. Anytime you feel bad you immediately blame
carbs.
3. You start to feel worse because your diet is crazy, but you blame carbs so you get ever
stricter with your diet.
1. You believe copywriting is the most valuable skill in the 21st century.
2. You start obsessing over copywriting and learning rapidly.
3. You start making good money with copywriting, further strengthening your belief.
As we discussed in the last module, we seek to ‘confirm’ our beliefs to protect our ego from getting
damaged.
By default, we hate being wrong. We’re willing to lie to ourselves for years to avoid the pain of being
wrong.
This is why understanding the belief cycle is imperative.
If you learn how to ‘catch yourself’ when you’re believing something that doesn’t serve you, you can
replace that belief with a belief that does serve you.
You can change the cycle from compounding negatively to compounding positively.
(Don’t worry, we’ll cover this entire process in depth in this lesson.)
But first, let’s talk about paradigms.
The sum of all of your beliefs about a concept forms your paradigm of that concept.
Copywriting Example:
Your paradigms are essentially the ‘bucket’ of beliefs you hold around a subject.
Paradigms are the ‘lens’ through which you view a subject. Your beliefs form this ‘lens’.
Paradigm Examples:
- If you believe copywriting is boring, it’s saturated, it’ll be replaced by AI, and only lucky
people make $10k/m with it… your copywriting paradigm is NOT conducive to your success.
- If you believe copywriting is exciting, there’s insane potential in the market, AI is just a
powerful tool used by copywriters and only the sucky writers will be replaced, and it’s 1000%
possible to make $10k/m with the skill… your copywriting paradigm is much MORE
conducive to your success.
- If you believe you’re overweight because of ‘bad genetics’, it’s extremely hard to lose weight,
and anyone who wants to lose weight is full of vanity… your weight-loss paradigm is NOT
conducive to your success.
- If you believe you’re overweight because of your own choices, it’s easy to lose weight with
the right diet/program, and everyone should strive to be a healthier version of themselves…
your weight-loss paradigm is much MORE conducive to your success.
- If you believe you’re broke because of the government, your race, your country, your
parents, and your IQ… your money-making paradigm is NOT conducive to your success.
- If you believe you’re broke because you haven’t learned the knowledge/skill needed to make
money, anyone can make money with time and skills, and it’s actually easy to make money
because there's so much of it in the world… your money-making paradigm is MORE
conducive to your success.
Don’t get me wrong… the hustle-mode, grind-set entrepreneurs are right:
Actions do equal results.
But here’s the secret…
To take the right actions consistently you must have the beliefs conducive to taking those
actions.
Just think about it… Who do you think is more likely to succeed from those two examples above?
Clearly, it’s the person with the ‘correct’ copywriting paradigm.
The more of your paradigms you can align with true reality, the more your overall perception of
reality will align with true reality — giving you the clarity, peace, and success you want.
Aligned Beliefs > Aligned Paradigm > Aligned Perceived Reality = Success
With each belief you correct, it’s like correcting a piece of the faulty ‘navigation system/map’, giving
you a clearer picture of the path you should take — allowing you to arrive at the desired destination.
So you might be wondering…
How do you change your beliefs?
The Agents Of Change
Change is impossible without two elements:
The first of which is humility.
In order to change you must become humble.
Having humility doesn’t mean you hate yourself, or never have a strong belief in something — it
simply means you accept that you could be completely wrong about everything.
‘Be like water.’ – Bruce Lee
You seek to understand, not to prove yourself right.
Pride is the opposite of humility.
- Pride says you’re never wrong.
- Pride says if people don’t agree with you, they’re wrong.
- Pride doesn’t entertain new possibilities.
Like we discussed earlier, pride is the default state of human existence. It’s in our sinful nature.
We hate being wrong!
The Bible talks at length about the importance of humility. Here are a few verses:
- The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor. - Proverbs
15:33
- Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. - James 4:10
- When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. - Proverbs 11:3
- The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life. - Proverbs 22:4
- Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.” - 1 Peter 5:5
- Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than
yourselves. - Philippians 2:3
- For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be
exalted. - Luke 14:11
- For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom
for many. - Mark 10:45
- He leads the humble in what is right and teaches the humble his way. - Psalms 25:9
- Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the
form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by
taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human
form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
- Philippians 2:5-8
The Journey Of The Arrogant The Journey Of The Humble
The leading cause of mediocrity in America isn’t IQ, it’s arrogance!
The second ‘Agent of Change’ is responsibility.
If you don’t take responsibility for everything that happens to you, it’s almost impossible to change.
Once again, this goes against our sinful human nature — Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the
serpent!
We avoid the pain of responsibility by blaming others for our problems. (Living in delusion.)
- The government is the reason I’m poor!
- My parents traumatized me so now I need to do drugs every day instead of working!
- The school system ruined my child!
- KJ didn’t hand me clients on a silver platter! (Even though we do that too lol)
- I’m fat because of my genetics!
- My friends are the reason I’m addicted to video games!
- Everyone hates me & I can’t succeed because I’m [insert race here]!
You can choose to believe these things. Go ahead.
I’m just saying that IF you do believe them, it will be impossible for you to change your life.
Whoever you blame has the power.
If you blame the government, they have the power.
If you blame yourself, YOU have the power.
Take responsibility for everything in your life.
That doesn’t mean you never recognize a bad circumstance or ‘hand’ you’ve been dealt. It just
means you choose to believe that YOU can change it.
Armed with humility and responsibility, you now have the power to create radical change in
your life quickly.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to cover in-depth in the next module.
We’re going to learn HOW to shift your perceived reality to match reality — allowing you to start
experiencing true success for probably the first time ever.
See ya there.
