1. Talk about challenges you face in university life
One of the biggest challenges I face in university life is managing my time effectively.
I often have to balance between attending classes, completing assignments,
preparing for exams, and doing part-time work. Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed and
stressed. Another challenge is adapting to a new learning environment. At
university, students are expected to be more independent, and that took me some
time to get used to. However, I believe these challenges help me grow and become
more responsible.
2. Talk about challenges you face in social life
In social life, I sometimes struggle with communication, especially when meeting
new people. I tend to be shy and nervous, which makes it hard for me to start
conversations. Another challenge is maintaining friendships because everyone has
their own schedules. Despite these difficulties, I try to improve my social skills by
joining clubs and participating in group activities. Step by step, I’m getting better at
building and keeping relationships.
3. Describe a time when you persuaded someone to do something
I remember a time when I persuaded my friend to join the university football club
with me. He was hesitant because he thought he wasn’t good enough. I told him that
it wasn’t about winning, but about having fun and staying active. I shared my own
experience and how it helped me reduce stress. After some encouragement, he
agreed to try it. Now, he loves it and even thanks me for pushing him to join.
4. Describe your idea of making a good first impression in a job interview
To make a good first impression in a job interview, I believe preparation is key. You
should dress appropriately, arrive on time, and greet the interviewer with a smile.
It’s important to research the company and be ready to answer questions clearly
and confidently. I also think showing enthusiasm and asking thoughtful questions
can leave a positive impression. Finally, body language matters—maintaining eye
contact and sitting properly can show confidence and respect.
5. Describe a time when you were ill
Last year, I had a serious flu that lasted for almost a week. I had a high fever, sore
throat, and could hardly eat anything. I had to miss some classes and stay in bed
most of the time. My parents took care of me and made me feel better. During that
time, I realized how important health is. After I recovered, I started eating more
healthily and doing light exercise to stay fit and prevent illness.
6. Describe an activity you enjoy doing to keep fit and stay healthy
One activity I really enjoy is jogging. I usually go jogging in the park near my house
three times a week. It helps me stay in shape and clear my mind after a long day. I
like listening to music while jogging because it keeps me motivated. This simple
activity has improved my health and energy levels, and I always feel more relaxed
after a run.
7. Talk about a memorable journey you have ever made
A memorable journey I made was a trip to Da Nang with my family two years ago.
We visited many beautiful places like Ba Na Hills, My Khe Beach, and the Dragon
Bridge. I enjoyed the local food and took lots of photos. The weather was perfect and
the people were friendly. It was a great bonding experience for my family, and I’ll
always remember the fun we had together.

My favorite means of transport is the bicycle. It’s eco-friendly, cheap, and helps me
stay fit. I often ride my bike to school or to nearby places. It’s convenient because I
don’t have to wait for the bus or deal with traffic jams. Riding a bike also allows me
to enjoy the surroundings and feel the fresh air. I think it’s a great way to travel
short distances.

The piece of technology I use every day is my smartphone. It helps me stay

also use it to set reminders, listen to music, and even practice English. While I try
not to overuse it, I must say that my phone plays an important role in my daily life,
especially for both communication and studying.
10. Talk about the most significant changes in the world of work in Vietnam in
the last 10 years
In the last 10 years, the world of work in Vietnam has changed a lot due to
technology and globalization. Many jobs now require digital skills, and remote
working has become more common, especially after COVID-19. Young people are
starting their own businesses or working as freelancers. Also, more international
companies have come to Vietnam, bringing new job opportunities. These changes
offer more flexibility, but also require workers to keep learning new skills.
11. Talk about a person who inspired you to do something interesting
One person who inspired me is my high school English teacher. She was passionate,
creative, and always encouraged us to think differently. Because of her, I developed
a strong interest in learning English and even joined the English-speaking club. She
often shared stories about her travels and experiences, which made me want to
improve my English and explore the world. Thanks to her inspiration, I’m now more
confident and motivated to pursue a career that involves using English.
12. Talk about an invention that has changed the world in a positive way
I think the Internet is one of the most important inventions that has changed the
world positively. It has made communication faster and easier. People can learn
new things, work from home, and connect with others from different countries. The
Internet has also helped businesses grow and created many job opportunities. Of
course, it has some negative effects, but overall, it has improved our lives in many
ways.
13. Describe your favorite weather
My favorite weather is cool and sunny. I enjoy days when the sun is shining but it’s
not too hot. This kind of weather makes me feel energetic and happy. It’s perfect for
going outside, walking in the park, or hanging out with friends. I also like wearing
light jackets and enjoying a warm drink when it’s a little chilly. Cool sunny weather
always puts me in a good mood.
14. Describe a piece of electronic device that is important to you
The electronic device that is most important to me is my laptop. I use it for studying,
attending online classes, and doing assignments. It also helps me relax by watching
movies or listening to music. My laptop stores important files and documents, and
without it, I would find it hard to manage my studies. It’s an essential tool in my
daily life.
15. Talk about your dream job / an ideal job you would like to do after
graduation from your university
My dream job is to become a travel writer. I love exploring new places, learning
about different cultures, and sharing stories through writing. After graduation, I
hope to work for a travel magazine or even start my own blog. This job would allow
me to travel, meet new people, and use my English skills. It’s a job that combines my
passion for writing and traveling, which makes it perfect for me.
16. Talk about your best friend
My best friend is Minh. We have known each other since primary school. Minh is
kind, funny, and always there when I need help. We share similar interests like
watching movies and playing video games. Whenever I feel stressed or sad, he
listens and supports me. Our friendship has lasted for many years, and I hope it will
continue forever. Having a best friend like him makes life more meaningful.
17. Talk about a difficult task in the past that you could not complete
One difficult task I couldn’t complete was learning to play the guitar. I was excited at
first and took some online lessons. However, I found it hard to move my fingers
quickly and remember the chords. Also, I didn’t have enough time to practice
regularly. After a few months, I gave up. Although I didn’t succeed, I still appreciate
the effort and might try again in the future when I have more time.
18. Talk about your favorite form of entertainment
My favorite form of entertainment is watching movies. I enjoy both Hollywood and
Vietnamese films. Watching movies helps me relax and escape from the pressures of
daily life. I especially like adventure and comedy movies because they are exciting
and funny. I usually watch movies on weekends or when I finish my homework. It’s
a great way to spend my free time and improve my listening skills in English.
19. Talk about an environmental problem where you live
One serious environmental problem where I live is air pollution. There are many
motorbikes and cars on the road, and factories also release smoke into the air.
Sometimes, the air smells bad and makes it hard to breathe. This affects people’s
health, especially children and the elderly. I think the government should promote
the use of public transport and green energy. People also need to be more aware of
how their actions impact the environment.
