Are there any prerequisites for this MBA?
There is no prerequisite regarding knowledge because our course is based on three central pillars: fundamentals of each
of the Data Science and Analytics techniques, software implementation, and decision-making. Each of the modules will
be based on these three pillars. This means that you will learn these languages from the very beginning!
But we always recommend that students who are unfamiliar with the basics of the course dedicate a little more time to
s k ed Q ue s t io ns the MBA and also attend all the leveling classes we offer.
Frequently A
AB O U T
What is the target audience for this MBA?
This course is multidisciplinary in nature. It is aimed at professionals with degrees in a wide range of human, exact, and
biological sciences who are interested in acquiring or deepening their knowledge of data modeling, programming,
technology, and strategic decision-making on the various fronts that characterize Data Science.
THE C O U R SE
What is the objective of the course?
The goal of our MBA is to train professionals in the development of data science and analysis techniques, balancing
fundamentals, programming, and decision-making, by explaining the main techniques of Data Science, Machine
Learning, and Analytics, with a focus on generating information aimed at establishing strategies for decision-making,
adaptation, knowledge of emerging technologies, and resource allocation.
Will we have practical classes?
The course has a very strong hands-on approach, where you will be taught how to develop algorithms, estimate models,
create functions, among others, for decision-making purposes. We will have practical classes to develop algorithms for
data analysis, mixing algorithm development, based on the fundamentals studied and acquired, for decision-making
purposes.
What is the programming language used in the MBA?
The course will be taught primarily in Python, in the subjects of data modeling, analytics, machine learning, and deep
learning. In addition, we will also address SQL in the Data Engineering subject.

What are the statistical tools addressed?
We will have different statistical tools: Cluster Analysis, Principal Component Analysis, Simple and Multiple Canonical
Correspondence Analysis, Linear and Nonlinear Regression Models, Binary and Multinomial Logistic Models,
Zero-Inflated Models for Rare Events, Multilevel Models, Ensemble Models, Decision Trees, Bagging, Boosting, Random
Forest, Neural Networks, Business Intelligence Tools, Deep Learning, Spatial Analysis, NLP, Web Scraping, Text Mining,
Operational Research, Analytic Hierarchy Process, among others.
s k ed Q ue s t io ns Does this MBA focus on Management?
Frequently A
AB O U T
The MBA does not focus on management, but on generating results for decision-making. The models will use real and
market databases from different fields of knowledge.
Will we learn about data processing?
O U R SE
Yes, in the entire Machine Learning module. In addition, we will have a specific subject on Data Manipulation and
THE C
Processing, called Data Wrangling.
What makes the MBA USP/Esalq in Data Science and Analytics stand out?
One of the biggest reasons we stand out is because our course is based on three central pillars: fundamentals,
programming, and decision-making. This teaching model allows you to learn programming from the ground up. In addition,
we also start and end the modules in a single programming language, instead of segmenting the module into several
languages, which contributes to a greater understanding of the content.
What is the introductory module for?
The introductory module allows beginners and experienced professionals in the field to practice the central pillars of the
course (fundamentals of each of the Data Science and Analytics techniques, software implementation, and
decision-making).
Is the introductory module mandatory? (Attendance, absences, and tests)
Yes, and watching it is fundamental to having a better performance in the course. The attendance is counted by taking the
test that will be made available at the end of the last class, which will be available for 30 days. Each student have 3
attempts of 60 minutes to take the test.

WILL I HAVE A PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR MY ACADEMIC FOLLOW-UP?
Throughout your academic journey, you will have a coursefather/coursemother to support you
and answer any questions you may have. They will participate in the following stages of the
course: Application, academic follow-up, financial adjustments or issues, and Term Paper
development.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PLANS (EN-ES)?
There are differences between the plans due to additional costs related to the apostille of the
certificate (HAGUE), sending the gift, availability of a specialized Advising Team, and translation
of support materials and tests into Spanish and English. All students will have the option of
choosing between the national or international plan, according to their preferences.
