Parts of a Seed
A seed has three main parts:
1. Embryo – the baby plant inside the seed (includes radicle, plumule, hypocotyl).
2. Cotyledon – food storage for the embryo.
3. Seed Coat (Testa) – protective covering of the seed.

Monocot vs Dicot Seeds
Dicot Seed (e.g., Bean):
- Has two cotyledons.
- Cotyledons act as food storage.
- Embryo includes radicle (root) and plumule (shoot).
Monocot Seed (e.g., Corn):
- Has one cotyledon with large endosperm.
- Endosperm is the main food storage.
- Embryo includes radicle (root) and plumule (shoot).
