Not only Sun and planets constitute the solar system.

There are many

other celestial things, such as asteroids, comets, meteors, meteoroids, and
meteorites. We are going to discuss three types of celestial objects and some
technologies related to the solar system.

First, asteroid. Asteroid is a type of space rock that orbits between Mars
and Jupiter. This is made of minerals such as nickel, iron, most commonly and
gold, silver, and platinum. And it has a metallic core inside of it, and mantle and
crust similar to the composition of the planet. Also, asteroids can be divided into
3 types with their components. The C-type asteroid consists of clay and silicate
rocks. The S-types are made of silicate materials and nickel-iron, and the M-type
consists of metallic materials. And a scientist called a big asteroid a ‘dwarf
planet’.

Second, the comets. Comets are celestial bodies that consist of ice and dust
(dirty snowball). Generally, comets are bright when you see them at night. But it
can’t make light by itself like the moon. Also, comets can be divided into three
parts, which are the nucleus, coma, and tails. Its tails are formed because of the
radiation pressure. Comets have two different types, which are periodic comets
that have orbits around the sun regularly, and non-periodic comets that pass the
sun very rarely.
