Role : SQL Developer – PL/SQL Developer

Contract : 3 months, renewable


Hours per week : 35 hours
Location : 2x per week to the office – downtown

Responsibilities
• Designing, developing, and maintaining complex PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages,
triggers, and views for various business functionalities.
• Writing, optimizing, and tuning SQL queries for performance, using techniques lie SQL Trace,
Autotrace and incorporating hints
• Creating, modifying, and managing database objects such as tables, indexes, materialized views, and
other schema components.
• Performing data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks, potentially using PL/SQL scripts,
SQL Loader, or other tools.
• Identifying and resolving database performance bottlenecks, including query optimization, indexing
strategies, and database configuration adjustments.
• Participating in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, and maintaining code
quality.
• Identifying and resolving issues within the database environment, including debugging PL/SQL code
and analyzing error logs.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for database designs, procedures, and processes.
• Working with other developers, business analysts, and DBAs to ensure seamless integration and
project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.


• Proven experience as an Oracle SQL/PL/SQL Developer.
• Extensive experience with Oracle databases (various versions like 11g, 12c, 19c).
• Strong knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.
• Expertise in using TOAD for Oracle, alongside other tools like Oracle SQL Developer.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Reinsurance, Insurance and Finance knowledge/experience.
