REFLECTION on the CLASSROOM OBSERVATION
(Teachers Insights)
As a DepEd Teacher, the journey of integrating my personal teaching
philosophy into my classes and lesson plans throughout the four quarters of the
academic year has been both rewarding and enlightening. My teaching
philosophy revolves around fostering a student-centered learning environment,
cultivating critical thinking, and nurturing a growth mindset among my
students. This reflection highlights the key experiences and lessons I have
learned during each quarter as I strived to align my beliefs with my teaching
practices.
The first classroom observation was dedicated to celebrating diversity
and promoting inclusivity in the classroom. I diversified my teaching materials
to represent various cultures, perspectives, and experiences. By doing so, I
fostered an inclusive learning environment where all students felt valued and
heard.
I encouraged open discussions about global issues, helping my students
develop empathy and a broader worldview. Videos of persons with different
backgrounds were shown to learners to learn from their stories to enrich the
learners’ understanding of the world’s complexities. This quarter emphasized
the importance of respecting individual differences and working collaboratively
as a unified community.

As the academic year approached its conclusion, the second classroom
observation was dedicated to reflection and growth. I encouraged my students to
look back on their journey, identifying their strengths, achievements, and areas
for improvement. This self-assessment process allowed them to take ownership
of their learning and acknowledment their progress. Incorporating feedback
from both students and parents, I fine-tuned my teaching strategies and lesson
plans, aiming to continuously improve my practice. I also organized a
culminating activity where students showcase their portfolios and share their
personal growth stories. Celebrating their achievements fostered a sense of
accomplishment and motivated them to embrace learning in the years to come.
Throughout the academic year, integrating my personal teaching
philosophy into my classes and lesson plans proved to be a fulfilling and
transformative experience. Embracing a student-centered approach, fostering
critical thinking, promoting diversity, and encouraging growth mindset not only
benefited my students’ academic development but also nurtured their personal
growth and character.
As I look forward to the next academic year, I am committed to refining
and expanding my teaching philosophy, continuously striving to create an
inspiring and inclusive learning environment where students are empowered to
reach their full potential. The journey of integrating my teaching philosophy is a
lifelong commitment, and I am eager to embrace the challenges and rewards it
will bring in the future.
