Tutorial 2 (Pharmacokinetic Parameters)

Question 1

Calculate the initial dose of drug X; Vd = L. If the concentration remaining in


the body after hrs was µg/ml, knowing that its biological half-life is hrs.

antibiotic which is eliminated by 1st order kinetics…

1. Estimate graphically t1/2 and Kel . (using a semi-log graph paper)


2. Calculate Vd , Clt and AUC.
3. Comment on the binding properties of the drug.
4. If the dose is halved, calculate all pharmacokinetic parameters.
