Week 8 Discussion
After reading this week resources and considering how in Vargas (2020) challenges us
to think beyond traditional testing and narrow skill assessments in education. Vargas
suggests that solely focusing on tests can divert effort and resources away from truly
important aspects of learning, essentially training students to take tests rather than
fostering genuine understanding and development. In kassidee’s scenario, BIP should
consider goals that help her in long term like self-advocacy, Functional communication
rather than simply intervention the behaviors and completing the classroom tasks. I am
curios to discuss about the traditional testing on school system.
