I. Introduction / Motivation (5–7 mins)
Teacher (with SpongeBob headband or picture):
“Good morning, class! Today, we’re diving into the world of SpongeBob and his friends in Bikini
Bottom. Did you know SpongeBob works at the Krusty Krab? To do his job well, he needs to
talk with Mr. Krabs, Squidward, and even Patrick. And just like them, we also need good
communication in school and in life.”
(Show SpongeBob picture with speech bubbles.)
“Let’s play a quick game! I’ll show you pictures of SpongeBob characters, but their speech
bubbles are blank. Your job is to guess what message they might be saying.”
(Flash images: SpongeBob greeting, Squidward frowning, Patrick confused, Sandy explaining.
Call volunteers to fill in messages.)
👏 Teacher: “Great job! See, communication helps us understand each other better. Today, we’ll
learn how to communicate effectively, just like SpongeBob and his friends.”
II. Presentation (10–12 mins)
Teacher (writes on board):
“Communication for work purposes means sharing ideas, information, and messages to
accomplish tasks and build good relationships.”
“Let’s look at the Types of Communication with SpongeBob examples:
1. Verbal – talking face-to-face, like SpongeBob asking Squidward for an order.
2. Written – writing notes, like Mr. Krabs posting a memo about prices.
3. Non-verbal – gestures and expressions, like Patrick shrugging or Squidward rolling his
eyes.
4. Digital – online messages, like Sandy sending SpongeBob an email about science.”
(Point to flashcards for each type.)
“Next, the Purposes of Communication:
● To share information (like giving SpongeBob the daily menu).
● To give instructions (Mr. Krabs telling SpongeBob what to do).
● To coordinate teamwork (Squidward, SpongeBob, and Mr. Krabs working together).
● To solve problems (when they decide how to catch a jellyfish).
● To give feedback (Mr. Krabs praising SpongeBob for hard work).

III. Activity (15 mins)
Teacher:
“Now, let’s bring Bikini Bottom into our classroom!”
1. “I will group you into 4 teams. Each group will get a SpongeBob scenario card.”
(Examples: SpongeBob reminding Patrick about work; Squidward giving SpongeBob
instructions; Sandy giving a science update; Mr. Krabs giving feedback.)
2. “Your task: Act out the scene showing the type of communication, purpose, and good
qualities. Be creative—use gestures, expressions, and even funny SpongeBob voices if
you like!”
(Give groups 5 minutes to prepare, then each presents their short skit. After each, the teacher
and class discuss: “What type of communication did they show? What purpose? Was it
effective?”)
👏 Teacher: “Wow, excellent teamwork! SpongeBob would be proud of you.”
IV. Generalization (10 mins)
Teacher (asks guide questions):
● “Why is it important to communicate clearly in school or at work?”
● “What happens if messages are not clear?”
● “What values should we always practice when we communicate?”
(Call on 2–3 students to answer. Summarize responses.)

“Before we end, let’s check your learning. Answer these questions on a 1/4 sheet of paper.”
1. Give one type of communication and an example.

VII. Assignment (2–3 mins)
Teacher:
“For your assignment, draw your favorite SpongeBob character. In the speech bubble, write
one example of effective communication—for example, SpongeBob giving polite instructions or
Patrick listening attentively. Be creative, colorful, and neat!”
Closing (1–2 mins)
Teacher (with SpongeBob picture):
“Remember, class, like SpongeBob, let’s always communicate with respect, clarity, and
teamwork. That way, whether in school or in life, we can achieve great things together. Good
