Author Response_ Assignment 1
Question:What was the major force (motivation) behind this paper?
Response:The main problem this paper aims to solve is the difficulty of energy
management in buildings with solar panels and batteries. In addition to wanting
their expensive batteries to last as long as possible, owners also want to save
money. Because earlier methods did not sufficiently account for how different usage
patterns can drain a battery, it became necessary to create a more intelligent
system that could balance these two goals.
Question:What were your initial thoughts about the problem you chose to
investigate?
Response:This challenge got me thinking immediately that existing energy management
systems have a large weakness. I recognized that many of these systems only
considered generating quick profits, but there was a missing piece of the equation:
how the battery would keep running and retain value over the long term.I
immediately believed that a more intelligent system needed to be created which
would try and find a solution to generate profits short term and sustain the
battery over the long term. It would be difficult because it's difficult to
determine how batteries decompose at once fast and accurately enough to be used in
real time. It was my opinion that the most challenging aspect would be determining
how to create a model which was both informative and simple to use.
Question:What are your major findings?
Response:What we learned was that new system, and we're referring to it as the
Improved Energy Management Strategy, or the IEMS, for short, is something of a
game-changer. It's a lot smarter than old methods because it's not only looking at
saving you money, but it's actually taking care of the battery.
Here's the split:
* Longer-Lasting Battery
* Extra Savings
Simply, we have proved here that a wiser and more pragmatic approach towards
managing energy is not only possible but most rewarding over time.
Question:What role did you personally play in writing this paper?
Response:smart grid, internet-of-things (IoT)-based energy management, grid
integration of renewable energy sources, e-mobility challenges, power quality
analysis
Question:Is there anything you can suggest if I choose to work on this area of
study?
Response:Using real-world, long-term operational data for validation is crucial.
