Yesterday, you learned addition and subtraction of
rational numbers in decimal form.

I want all of you to read the given problem.
A grade 7 student earns 6.25 pesos in selling
a bundle of kamote tops during Saturdays.
Each bundle costs P25.00. She is not hesitate
to sell kamote tops because she knows that
this is a nutritious vegetable, rich in calcium
and iron. If she is able to sell 12 bundles of
kamote tops, how much will she earn?
Analyze the given problem with the learners.

Ok so let us multiply rational numbers in decimal
form.

in decimal form, multiply it same as
with whole numbers. Then, count the
number of decimal places in the
factors where it should be the same
as the number of decimal places in
the product starting from right to left

Let’s have another word problem.
The price of a basketball ball is P790.00. If 6 players
will contribute P136.75 each, will that be enough to
buy the ball? If not, how much more do they need?
