Prequalified Moment Connections Guide

This document summarizes the design of a prequalified moment connection (BFP) according to the ANSI/AISC 358-10 standard. It defines the geometry of the beam and column to be connected, as well as the material properties. Then, it calculates the maximum probable moment in the beam and the maximum bolt diameter. Finally, it sizes the flange plate including thickness, bolt quality, shear resistance, and layout.
