EUI and EPU Diesel Injector Systems

This document describes the operation of the EUI (Electronic Unit Injector) pump injector, which consists of three main sections: the solenoid valve, the pumping element, and the nozzle. It also describes the characteristics of the EUI and EUP systems, which use eccentric pumps to deliver fuel at high pressure in an electronically controlled manner. Finally, it highlights the advantages of the EUI system such as its compact design, greater application range, high injection pressure, and low pollutant emissions.

The EUI pump injector is a unit composed of three sections.

important: the solenoid valve or solenoid valve, the element of
pumping and the nozzle. The piston of
pumping is activated in each cycle by
a lever and a mechanism of
seesaw against the force of a
antagonistic spring that tends to
keep it in its position of
rest. In the pumping action
drives the fuel contained in
the camera towards the nozzle, which is of
design analogous to that of the injectors
conventional and opens by the
pressure with which it is injected

It generally has four or five outlets.

The solenoid valve is directly controlled by the control unit.

The solenoid valve has the function of synchronizing the moment and the
duration of the injection. It consists of the following components:
solenoid or coil, armature or core, valve and a spring.

the gas emission standards.
An EUI system incorporates a fully controlled
electronic having a pre-injection to reduce
the noise, at the same time sensors installed in the
motor sends a series of data to the computer that
calculate the quantity and the exact timing for the injection of the diesel.

EUP Characteristics
An electronic pump unit (EPU) system has the
essentially the same technology as an EUI system, these
systems are specifically used in engines that lead to
camshaft in the engine block.
Essentially as a EUI, each injector is supplied with
diesel through a return valve controlled by a solenoid located
in the body of the EUP. This solenoid is controlled by the unit of
electronic control unit (UCE) that continuously receives signals from
sensors located in the engine, the computer or (USE) receive these
signals and compares them allowing the injector to deliver the
exact amount of diesel and at the right moment

Advantages of the system: The EUI or UIS system shows advantages over the
conventional injection systems have a number of advantages, among
those that stand out:

Compact design.
• Main field of application (For passenger cars and vehicles
light industrial engines with a capacity of up to 30 KW/cylinder,
for heavy industrial vehicles of up to 80
KW/cylinder.
• High injection pressure up to 2050 bar.
Separate pre-injection from the main injection, which
facilitates the ignition of the fuel and reduces the
emissions.
Reduced combustion noise.
Start of variable injection.
Low emissions of pollutant gases.
