Statement of Faith
We believe:

1. In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.

2. In one God who exists eternally in three persons, namely: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

3. That Jesus Christ is the only begotten of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.

4. Who was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead. Who ascended to heaven and is today at the
right hand of the Father as our Intercessor.

5. That all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, and that repentance is
ordained by God for all and necessary for the forgiveness of sins.

6. That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are effected by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

9. In the baptism with the Holy Spirit, subsequent to the cleansing of the heart.

10. Speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit directs the person, which is the initial evidence of
baptism in the Holy Spirit.

11. In water baptism by immersion, and that all who repent must be baptized in it.
in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

12. That divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.

13. In the Lord's Supper and the washing of the feet of the saints.

14. In the second coming of Jesus before the millennium. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to take away
to the living saints towards Him in the air. Second, to reign on earth for a thousand years.

15. In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked.

Pre-Discipleship Starting the Christian life

INTRODUCTION
Christian life is governed by values different from those of the world. It is a life
transformed by Christ, Where we have abandoned the old ways of conduct and
we try to live pleasing to God

WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN MY LIFE?

You have made the decision to acknowledge Christ as your Lord and Savior. That is the
the most important decision of his entire life, and great things have happened since then, such as
the following:
Their sins were forgiven. (1 John 1:9) From now on you will be responsible.
to live a life that pleases God, and surely he will be able to achieve it, because He will be by his side.
2. He became a child of God. (John 1:12) Although we are all creatures of God, it is
until we received Jesus, we have the privilege of being children.
3. You now have eternal life. (1 John 5:11-12) Eternal life does not begin after
the physical death, but rather we live and enjoy it since we received Christ. In that
glorious moment we passed from death to life, and to eternal life.
4. Jesus came to dwell in your heart. (Revelation 3:20). He has been knocking at the door.
from our hearts for a long time, and now that we have opened it, it has come to
stay with us forever

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO
STAY STRONG?
1. Have the attitude of a newborn baby, to follow a healthy diet and
nourishing with the word of God (1 Peter 2:1-3)
2. Develop the humility necessary to receive the care and training from people with
greater Christian experience, that as spiritual mothers and fathers, they will be interested
in supporting him for his integral growth (Acts 18:24-26)
3. Maintain a good spirit to attend your cell, general meetings, and all those
activities that the Lord places at your disposal to help you in your spiritual development
(Hebrews 10:23-24)
4. Stay firm in the process offered by the church. God has a great project.
by the time you have reached the necessary Christian maturity (Phil. 3:12-14)

And now what comes next?

You have been born again and are now a child of God, but you must continue to grow in all
the areas of your life to live according to His purpose and become a true disciple
of Jesus Christ. These simple tips will help you conquer that new spiritual life that
surely you want to have.

1. Speak to God in prayer. Practice prayer in a natural and sincere way. You don't need
repeat learned sentences, simply tell God with humility what you feel
and needs. He is good and always listens to his children.
2. Meet with other Christians. The environment in which a new believer interacts is
decisive. Attend church weekly and of course, do not stop going to your cell group with
punctuality. There will always be people who are interested in you.
3. Read the Bible constantly. The word of God will influence your life, increasing your faith and
helping you grow in the Lord. If you don't have one, get it as soon as possible and join the whole
church in the daily reading of the Bible.
4. Speak to others about Christ. To the extent that you tell others what Christ is

5. Be persevering. To become what God wants you to be, you must remain.
in the growth process that your church offers you, which has already begun with this little
lesson. Upon completing this stage of first steps, called Pre-discipleship, and if there is no
no legal impediment, you will be able to get baptized and move forward firmly on the path
of Christian discipleship

CONCLUSION
To finish, you must ensure that you have surrendered your life to Jesus Christ. Remember that he

of sins and eternal salvation.
Repeat the prayer of faith again, where we ask Christ to enter our heart, to us

Lord Jesus: I confess that I am a sinner and that I have offended you. I come before You repentant,
asking you for forgiveness for all my sins. Today I acknowledge that you are the Lord, that you died for
me on the cross and you rose on the third day. I open the door of my heart, I receive you as my only

deep experience with God.

HOW DOES THIS NEW BIRTH OCCUR?

1. Start with an Inner Change.
When we surrender to Christ, God changes our corrupt nature and gives us a new one.
image and likeness and empowers us When we surrender to Christ, God changes our nature
corrupted, gives us a new one in his image and likeness and empowers us to live like him
he likes (Ephesians 4:22-24). An inner change called New Birth has occurred,
where we are born as children of God and can live under the lordship of Christ.
It is the work of the Holy Spirit
This new birth is something spiritual, because God transmits the life of Christ to
our spirit, which was dead by This new birth is something spiritual,
because God transmits the life of Christ to our spirit, which was dead because of
of our sins.
"Even when we were dead in sins, He made us alive together with Christ" (Eph. 2:5)
Once we acquire that new nature, we can respond to God, because His
Spirit can communicate and relate to our spirit, which has been born again.
That which is born of the Spirit is spirit
3. There is a Renewal of the Mind
When someone does not have Christ, they cannot understand spiritual things, for Satan.

he/she made for humanity.
...the god of this age blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they would not...

by the presence of God. Our At being born again we receive the light of the gospel of
Christ, and our mind is illuminated by the presence of God. Our
thoughts begin to change, for in that divine act of new birth,
we also received the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)
4. God gives us a New Heart.
When being born again, our spirit that was dead in sins and
sins, receive the life of Christ and begin to be guided by the Holy Spirit

they come to Christ and to the church emotionally damaged, but God heals through His
Spirit that operates in the church and makes us free, now we can love God and receive His
love, and the same will happen regarding other people.

5. We learn to know and do His will.

Now we know what to do, we have decided to love God and be faithful to Him. Now we can know.
His will and living according to it.
Do not conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your
understanding, so that you may verify what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God
(Ro.12:2)
6. We develop a New Character.
Character is our inner way of being, which is reflected in our behavior.
external.
When we are born again, we are like newborn children and we begin a stage of
growth. God wants to form in us the character of Christ; that we be renewed and
restored according to His image and likeness.
For that, God has prepared workers in the church, who will help us to form the
new attitudes of the Christian character. If we were arrogant and proud, God will help us.
to be humble; if we were insensitive, he will give us a sensitive heart to the needs of the
others.
We adopted a New Lifestyle.
Now the Holy Spirit comes to dwell with us; He comforts us, encourages us, teaches us, and guides us in everything.
the truth (John 14:26)
But His Spirit also convinces us of sin, and helps us to remain set apart from
same. One of the ways the Bible explains the new birth is as follows:
Regarding your former way of life, put off the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceptive desires; be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and put on the
new man, created according to God; in righteousness, holiness, and truth" (Eph. 4:22-24)
God wants to restore His image and likeness in those of us who have been born again, and also
grant us some of His personal attributes, such as justice, holiness, and truth.

CONCLUSION
When we give our life to Christ, we pass from death to life. God gives us a
new spiritual nature, which can relate to His Holy Spirit and respond to His
voice.
This new nature has a strong inclination towards the things of God, it wants to please Him.

Now what we need to do is live in a way that pleases Him and respond to His direction,
which will give us daily through His Holy Spirit.

EXCLUSIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF GOD

GOD IS SPIRIT.
God is Spirit; and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
John 4:24
This verse reveals the spiritual nature of God, just like Colossians 1:15, where
He is called "the Invisible God." He is present everywhere even though we cannot see Him.
The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go
God is Spirit and is so perfect that He can only be understood with the help of the Holy Spirit.
known by the human mind. But God is a real person who thinks, feels, and can
to communicate with his creatures. His intention is to always be close to his children (Ps.145:18)

GOD IS ETERNAL.
Have you not known, have you not heard that the eternal God is Jehovah, who created the ends of the
earth?” (Isaiah 40:28)
God had no beginning and will have no end, He is from eternity and until eternity. Not

Jehovah or Yahweh means: The one who was, the one who is, and the one who will be, the one who is eternally.
present. For God "a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day" (2 Peter 3:8).
He will be the same God for all eternity (James 1:17).

3. GOD IS ALL-POWERFUL
I am the Almighty God; walk before me and be perfect
His Word and His creation reveal that His power knows no limits. God created everything from nothing.
what exists. It only took one word from his mouth for everything to be made (Genesis 1:3;
Hebrews 11:3) God has dominion over all creation, and nothing is impossible for Him.
For nothing will be impossible with God.

In the following terms, we discover some of the personal attributes that reflect
her great power:
a. Omnipotent. It means that he can do everything (Matthew 19:26)
b. Omnipresent. God is present everywhere and at all times (Psalms 139:7-10)
c. Omniscient. God knows all things, even the thoughts and intentions of
heart (Psalms 139: 1-4; 1 Cor. 2:10).

4. GOD IS A TRINITY
... baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
This is a fundamental teaching of the Bible, but difficult to understand. One of the reasons
That is why the word 'Trinity' does not appear as such in the Bible, as it is a theological term,
used to explain the "trine" nature of God.
The Bible affirms that God is one and that there is no God outside of Him (Deuteronomy 6:4;
Isaiah 43:10-12) However, this divine unity is composed of three distinct persons;
each one of them is God, but with a unique personality.
The Trinity is formed by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is God, the
The Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God. This in no way means that the
Christians believe in three gods, as we hold that they are three distinct persons, but one
only true God.
We believe that for the sake of salvation and dealing with mankind, God has manifested Himself in
form of a Trinity, throughout history. At the beginning of the Bible we already find
some indications of the plurality of God, such as Genesis 1:26, 3:22, and 11:7. The Hebrew word
Translated as God in those verses is Elohim, which expresses the idea of plurality.
Throughout the Bible there are passages that demonstrate the Trinity of God, such as Matthew 28:19, where
is baptized "in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit" and Luke 3: 21-22,
where Jesus is being baptized, the Holy Spirit descending like a dove and the Father
speaking from the heavens.
The New Testament also has specific references that demonstrate both the
personality like the divinity of the people of the Trinity. Jesus Christ, being man, is
it sometimes manifests in its divine nature and the Holy Spirit as a person and also
like God.
Moral Qualities of God
In addition to His divine characteristics, which no one else has, God possesses moral virtues that
we can imitate. And not only that, but the Bible commands us to imitate them.
In that sense, we were created in His image and likeness. Here are some of those
attributes:
1. God is holy. "For it is written: Be holy, because I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16)
God is merciful. "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."
merciful" (Luke 6:36)
3. God is just. 'For the Lord our God is just in all His works that He has done.'
(Daniel 9:14)
4. God is love. "Whoever does not love has not known God; because God is love."
1 John 4:8
5. God is upright, integral, truthful. "He is the Rock, whose work is perfect, because all his
The paths are righteousness; God of truth, and without any iniquity in him; he is just and upright.
(Deuteronomy 32:4)
We could never be like God, for He is perfect in everything. But He expects that
we imitate their virtues and strive every day to become like our
Father (Ephesians 5:1)

JESUS CHRIST IS THE CORPORAL MANIFESTATION AND

VISIBLE OF GOD
For in him dwells all the fullness of the Deity bodily.
God is Spirit, and in that sense, He is invisible to human beings. But He makes Himself visible to
through Jesus Christ, who is “the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15), “the radiance
of his glory and the very image of his substance" (Hebrews 1:3).
The Eternal Trinity drew near to us by becoming man and being born as the Son of God.
Colossians 2:9
The New Testament presents Christ as the Son of God made man, but with all
the attributes of God.
He is omniscient (he knows everything) (John 21:17).
2. Receive honor like God (John 5:23, 20:28).
3. Forgives sins as only God has the right to do (Mark 2:5-7)
4. He receives worship as God. He was given a name "that is above all names" and
He will receive eternal worship from all his creation (Phil. 2:9-11)

Jesus himself ensured that he was equal to God the Father (John 5:18 and 14:9) so it can be
to affirm that the Christ of the Bible is God made man.

CONCLUSION
Who is God really to you? Is He just an idea of good, as some teach?
certain philosophies, or is there a real person who loves her and is always close? What is their relationship like?

Lesson 4

Truly
Free

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
John 8:3
Pre-Discipleship Truly free

INTRODUCTION
Throughout all the time we lived without Christ, the devil took care of weaving his bindings.
about our life, to prevent us from doing the perfect will of God. That's why
we needed to be free from the slavery of sin and the devil that was reflected in form
of vices, hatreds, bitterness, fears, sinful habits, curses, and similar things.
Chains that bound us and prevented the spiritual victory that God gives, a Christian life in
total freedom.
THE ANCIENT SLAVERY OF SIN
Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.
Sin enslaves in such a way that there comes a moment when there is no human strength.
able to rescue us. This also happens with sinful attitudes, such as jealousy, bitterness,
inferiority complexes, fears, and others. Things that offend God and the enemy uses them
to distance ourselves from Him. Unfortunately, many people come to church and believe in
Christ, but they are still enslaved by some of those things.

HOW TO ACHIEVE TOTAL FREEDOM?

1. For the redemptive work of Christ. The Bible says that He 'came to free the captives.'
(Luke 4:18)
When Christ died on the cross, He freed us from the slavery of sin, but also
of all the curses that could have come for various reasons, such as the
that are in Genesis 3:17-19 and in Deuteronomy 28:15 and following. "Christ redeemed us from the
cursed is everyone who is
hung on a tree" (Galatians 3:13) For this reason it is written about him: "So if the Son
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36)

By the power of the word of God.

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32)
The Word has the power to free our minds from the darkness in which the devil or
"the god of this age," as the Bible calls him, keeps the world captive (2 Corinthians 4:4).
He wants to keep us in ignorance, but God wants His light to shine in
our mind and in all our being (2 Cor. 4: 6)
Every new Christian must make an effort in studying the Word, because it has power
to free ourselves from all the chains and curses that could be in our lives.

18
Pre-Discipleship Truly free

3. Through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Upon being born again, the chains of sin are broken by the power of the blood of Christ. The
the authority that Satan had over us is annulled, now the Holy Spirit will continue
working to lead us to reach maturity.
We are born again in the spiritual sense, but sometimes we do not live in the full freedom in Christ,
especially in our emotions, thoughts, and attitudes. Paul accused the
Christians of Corinth of fleshly, because they had many things that they had not been able to
overcome (2 Corinthians 3:1-3). But there are evils like those that we might be dragging along
even being Christians, which may have originated from our past sins or in a
family inheritance, and they can keep us bound. We need personal treatment and
everyday life of the Holy Spirit, so that our lives may be free from all those bonds.

4. Through the ministry of the Church.

God delivers through the blood of Christ, through the Word, and through the work of the Spirit.
Holy; and all of this is applied to the life of the believer when he joins the church, which is the
Body of Christ.
We can be free and achieve maturity through personalized care that comes from
servants of God in the church. That is why it is essential for the believer to remain united
to his church and be consistent in his progress throughout the process of Christian development that
is offered to him/her.

THE LIBERATING POWER OF THE DEATH OF CHRIST

Stand firm, then, in the freedom with which Christ has made us free, and do not be subject again.

The crown of thorns that was placed on his head could very well signify that he too
he carried upon himself the curse of misery; for when man sinned in the garden

it will produce for you...” (Genesis 3: 17-18). This was a curse on the economy of families.
and nations, for the land was the only source of wealth.

3. The sores caused by the whips on his skin also lead to release.
Before the fall, disease did not exist; man would live healthy and happy eternally.
The disease also came with the curse of Eden.
We can always get sick, for we live in a polluted world; but Christ
he was cruelly whipped so that we would not live enslaved by all kinds of
diseases.
Surely he took our infirmities and bore our sorrows... and by his stripes

When the nails pierced the flesh of the Master, they were also nailed to the cross, all the
rights that Satan had over us due to disobedience and the curses that
weighed over our lives.
At the Cross of Christ, Satan was left without documents against us, and no longer

Overlook our sins, for the price has already been paid on the cross of Calvary.
Christ paid with His life the price of our freedom.

CONCLUSION
The prophecies announced that He would come to bring freedom to the captives (Is. 61:1) and we have all
held captive by our sins, passions, thoughts, and emotions. But Christ suffered.

Pre-Discipleship Knowing the word of God

INTRODUCTION
The Bible is the inspired word of God. It has the power to bless anyone who decides to,
not only to believe in it but to put it into action.
"it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Rom. 1:16). If we approach it with
spiritual hunger and thirst, we will be satisfied and will have the strength to walk always
with the Lord.

THE DIVINE ORIGIN OF THE BIBLE

wonderful work.
There is much evidence of the divine nature of the Bible, such as its miraculous preservation to
through the centuries, the accuracy of their historical accounts, their many fulfilled prophecies
and others. But without a doubt, the greatest evidence and the one that can never be questioned, is
that has transformed millions of lives around the world.

2. The divine inspiration of the Bible

All the people who wrote the sacred text received the direction of the Spirit.

Sir desired.
For never has prophecy been brought by human will, but holy men
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21)

Divine inspiration is the supernatural influence that the Holy Spirit exercised over the
minds of the writers (prophets, apostles, etc.) so that they could expose the divine truth such
as it was revealed to them.
The Bible is, without a doubt, the inspired word of God, given by His Holy Spirit,
to reveal God's redemptive purpose towards all humanity.
The first statement of faith of our church says:
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible, for God guided the sacred writers.
not only in the thoughts they were meant to express, but also in the words they had to
to speak.
That is why it is common to find in the Bible, and especially in the Old Testament,
statements like the following:
The word of the Lord of Hosts came to me saying:... (Zechariah 8:1) and "Word of
The Lord who came to Jeremiah saying:...” (Jeremiah 18:1)

ITS TRANSFORMING POWER

All Scripture is inspired by God, and is useful for teaching, for rebuking, for

These verses assure us that the divine inspiration of the Bible grants it power.
especially to transform the lives of human beings. Also read 2 Timothy 3:15 and
Hebrews 4:12.
The source of that power lies in the person of Jesus, who is the Word or the Verb.

Scriptures (John 5:39)
The Bible bears witness to Jesus Christ, for it is the same life of the Savior, expressed in
words of divine origin.

GENERAL CONTENT
The word Bible comes from the term 'biblos' which means books. It is not a single book, but
a collection of books that have the same purpose: To reveal God's eternal plan for
we.
The Bible that we evangelical Christians use contains sixty-six books; of which,
thirty-nine are in the Old Testament, corresponding to the exact content that the
the people of God received by divine inspiration and twenty-seven in the New Testament.
The Roman Catholic versions of the Bible also contain other books in the Old Testament.

since ancient times, but they appeared between the third and first centuries before Christ.
The twenty-seven books of the New Testament were compiled and approved in the early
centuries of the Christian era, by men of God who sought the guidance of the Holy Spirit

Will.
The books of the Bible, as we know it today, are grouped according to their theme and
traditionally they have been classified in the following way:

THE OLD TESTAMENT.

• Pentateuch or books of the Law. They are the first five books of the Bible: From Genesis
up to Deuteronomy.
• Historical Books. The following twelve books: From Joshua to Esther.
• Poetic books. Five books: From Job to Song of Songs.
• The Major Prophets: Five books: From Isaiah to Daniel.
• The Minor Prophets. Twelve books: From Hosea to Malachi.

2. THE NEW TESTAMENT.

• The Gospels. Four books: From Matthew to John.
• The Acts of the Apostles. A book: The only completely historical book of the
New Testament.
• The Pauline Epistles. There are thirteen letters or epistles: From Romans to Philemon.
The 1st and 2nd Epistles to Timothy and Titus are also known as pastoral epistles.
• The General Epistles. There are eight books by different authors: From Hebrews to
Judas.
• Apocalypse. One single book: The only totally prophetic book of the New Testament.

Each book of the Bible is also organized into chapters and verses, and in many
versions, the verses have also been grouped into paragraphs, which have been assigned a
title according to its content. This internal organization was not part of the original biblical text,
but it was organized this way afterwards, with the purpose of facilitating its reading and study.

THE VERSIONS OF THE BIBLE

A version is an edition of the Bible that has translated the Scriptures from the sources.

There are many versions of the Bible, such as the Reina-Valera, the Modern Version, the

The Prayer
Effective

The effective prayer of the righteous can accomplish much.

Stg 5: 16
Pre-Discipleship The effective prayer

INTRODUCTION
Prayer is a powerful tool that helps us achieve growth and
Christian maturity. Praying is talking to God. If we pray constantly, God will help us to
to clear our daily walk of all opposition from the enemy and He will give us faith and confidence
sufficient to come out successful in everything. It would be very good if we followed the biblical advice that
says: 'Pray without ceasing' (1 Thess. 5:17), for God will fulfill his promise: 'Call to me and I
I will answer you” (Jer.33:3)

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EFFECTIVE SENTENCE

1. Pray with humility. "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites..." (Matthew 6:5)
When we come into the presence of God, we must do so with all reverence and
humility, recognizing that he is the Lord. The Bible says that 'God resists the'
"He gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6)
When we pray, we must humble ourselves before God, acknowledging our faults and weaknesses.
Lucas: 18:10-14

2. Pray with Faith. "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive" (Matthew 21:22)
Faith is essential for prayer to be effective. We approach God because
We are convinced of his existence and of his great mercy towards us.
(Hebrews 11:6). When our faith in God is firm, we can pray and draw near to Him with all.
confidence (Hebrews 4:16)
3. Being at peace with others. "And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against"
"anyone" (Mark 11:25).
If we have offended someone or have been offended, we must apologize.
first to that person, so that our prayers do not stumble. The good ones
Relationships are important when praying, especially when it comes to family relationships (1 Peter 3:7)

4. In the name of Jesus. "If you ask anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14:14)
The only mediator between the Heavenly Father and us is our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Timothy 2:5). The Bible says that our prayer will be effective if we pray to the Father in the
name of Jesus (John 14:13)
5. According to His will. 'And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask'
"if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us" (1 John 5:14)
When we start the Christian life, we usually do not know how to pray (James 4:3),
but in the Bible, we learn to know the will of God expressed in it; which is
good, pleasant, and perfect (Romans 12:2).

6. Constantly. "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17)

By praying constantly, we will stay close to God and grow in the Christian life.
In the Bible, we find many references to the need to pray constantly.
For example: The parable of the widow and the unjust judge (Luke 18:1-8)

Miracle. He is a God of miracles and has given us authority in prayer.
James 5:16

RESULTS OF THE PRAYER

When we pray with faith, God hears us and sooner or later He will answer our prayer.
Millions of Christians have been healed, freed, and blessed because they prayed with trust in
His mercy. In the Bible, there are many testimonies about answers to prayer, such as the
following:
God gave Abraham a son when he and his wife were already without possibility of
to procreate (Gen. 21:1-7).
He answered Moses, opening the Red Sea and freeing the people, after having been
oppressed for 430 years in Egypt (Exodus 14:13-16).
He answered Jesus' prayer by resurrecting Lazarus after four days.
dead (John 11: 38-44).
He answered Jairo's prayer, raising his daughter (Mark 5:35-43).
He answered the prayer of Paul and Silas by freeing them from prison (Acts 16:23-32).

THE OUR FATHER, A MODEL OF PRAYER

Jesus instructed his disciples about prayer. They should not do as the Pharisees did,
those who repeated long sentences learned by heart and without a real purpose
spiritual, but approaching God with humility. He showed them the model of an effective prayer,
which we now know as the Our Father and contains the following components:

1. Start by recognizing who God is: "Our Father who art in heaven
"Hallowed be your name" (v.9). (We should also add that the prayer must be

2. Present petitions specifically: 'Your kingdom come,' 'your will be done,' 'give us...
the bread of each day
(v.10-13:)
3. Always conclude with worship to God: 'For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory.'
(v.13)

The Lord said: 'You shall pray like this' (in this manner). It was not about teaching a prayer,
The Our Father is the model for an effective prayer.

The
Baptism

Matthew 28:19
Pre-Discipleship Water baptism

INTRODUCTION
The Great Commission is Christ's mandate for His church. It commands to preach the
gospel and baptizing all who believe. This divine command is a complete process,
where the gospel is preached to every creature, those who are won are retained and affirmed for

a personalized treatment. The goal is for everyone to be faithful disciples of Jesus.
Every person who has believed in Christ as their personal Savior must obey as soon as possible.
his mandate to be baptized, which is essential for having a healthy spiritual development.

THE MEANING OF WATER BAPTISM

It is an ordinance for the church; that is, a direct command from the Lord to His people. It has
three important meanings for the believer:

It is an act of obedience to God.

The Word commands to baptize all believers (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38) Therefore,
We affirm that this is the first act of true obedience of a child of God after the
conversion, and it must be done as soon as possible, at the beginning of the Christian life.

It is a public testimony of our faith.

Baptism was an essential practice in the first century (Acts 2:41 and 8:12) It was like
a badge that publicly identified them as members of the Church and followers
of Christ (Eph. 4:5) At that time, it was logical to expect that to be a Christian, one had to be
baptized.
Water baptism should continue to have the same importance for all who believe
in Christ. When we are baptized, we are giving public testimony of our faith and of
our surrender to Christ.

3. A symbol of His death and resurrection.

Baptism represents the death and resurrection of Christ (Rom.6:3-5). When we
we immerse them in the baptismal waters, we represent their death and burial; and when
we come out of the water, his resurrection (Col.2:12) This symbolizes that together with him we have
dead to our sins and raised to a new life.

2. The baptismal formula.

be the formula pronounced when performing In the Bible and particularly in Matthew 28:19, there is
it specifically teaches us what the formula to be pronounced when performing the baptism should be

REQUIREMENTS TO BE BAPTIZED
"He who believes and is baptized will be saved..." (Mark 16:16)
THE MAIN REQUIREMENT.
Each religious group can establish special requirements for baptism, but according to
the word of God, the first requirement and the one that is essential for a person to be
being baptized is to have believed in Jesus Christ with all your heart and to have received Him as the only
and sufficient Savior of his life (Mark 16:16, Acts 8:36-37)
In this sense, the water of baptism does not wash away our sins, as they have already been washed away by
the blood of Christ, when we believed in him (1 John 1:7)
2. WHO CANNOT BE BAPTIZED?
• Those who persist in their sins. Only people who have been baptized should be baptized.

we will not sin again, but we will purpose to be faithful to God every day and never

and to be baptized.

ADDRESSING THE OBJECTIONS

Many new Christians face opposition from family and friends, which can
to generate doubts and confusion in them and lead them to reject baptism. There are three objections
common questions that people have about baptism:
I was already baptized when I was a child.
This argument has already been distorted through this lesson. Biblical baptism is a
conscious decision and should only be made after the conversion. So here
we are talking about something very different from the baptism of children.
I still don't feel ready.
Yase said that the only requirement for water baptism is to have given our life.
to Christ.
The Bible does not establish any process of preparation for a believer to be
baptized. It is not necessary to have received many teachings or to be perfect already... Just
to create. If someone is not sure they have been forgiven and that God has the power to
keeping it from sin, will never be a victorious Christian.
The devil will attack me more if I get baptized.
This is an argument that makes no sense, as the enemy always wants

to move forward with a firm step towards your spiritual growth.
During the eight weeks that this Pre-discipleship stage lasts, the newcomers must clarify
all their doubts, to sort out their personal and family matters, in order to be prepared for
that great day of his baptism in water. Eight weeks are enough to renounce

The victory in our Christian life depends on living in harmony with the teachings.
from the word of God. He designed a perfect plan, and if we follow his instructions step by step,
we can expect that its purpose will be fulfilled. Water baptism is not an option, but a

the presence and redeeming work of Jesus Christ. '...and upon this rock I will build my church; and the

WHAT IS THE CHURCH?

The word church comes from the Greek 'Ekklesia', which means assembly or congregation of the
calls. In the New Testament, it is used to refer to the community of believers of a
a specific place (Local Church) and to those who have believed in Jesus Christ all over the world
(Universal Church).
1. The Universal Church. The church is the assembly of all those who have been saved or called.
through the Lord, everywhere. It is the great family of God all over the earth. He designed it and
she created it with the purpose of gathering, protecting, and edifying the life of her children. The Church
Universal, although it is made up of human beings, is referred to in the Bible as 'The Bride'
del Cordero” (Ap.19:7-8), “El Cuerpo de Cristo” (1ª Co. 12:27), “La Iglesia del Señor”
(Acts 20:28), 'The Church of the Living God' (1 Tim. 3:15) and 'The Church of God' (2 Cor. 1:1)

2. The Local Church. When a group of Christians from a certain region gather to
to worship God, to pray, to study the word, to have fellowship with one another, etc., make up
a local church (I Co.12:18, Flm.1:2). In other words, the Universal Church is
composed of thousands of smaller groups called local churches, which meet in all
parts of the world with the same purpose. Our church, although it belongs to a large
worldwide organization, it is a local church, just like the other thousands of
congregations dispersed throughout the country and the world.

WHAT IS THE CHURCH?

In the epistles of Saint Paul, the church is frequently compared to a human body.
where Christ is the head and the Church is its body properly speaking.
In this global or local assembly of believers, each one as a member of the Church, is
considered symbolically as a member of the Body of Christ as well (Ro.12:4-5;
1st Co. 12:12.

• Nutrition (Colossians 2:19)
• Unity (Colossians 2:19)
• Growth (Ephesians 4:15)
• Edification (Ephesians 4:16)
• Spiritual gifts (Romans 12:5-6)
• Nourishment (Ephesians 5:29)
• Care (Ephesians 5:29)

The Church is the visible body of Jesus Christ on earth, through which God gives Himself.

• All members are necessary in this body (vs. 14-17)
• Everyone in the body depends on one another (v.21)
• None is more important than the other as a person (vs. 22, 24)

Everyone cares about the needs of others (vs.24-26) Each member of the church
local is an important part of the Body of Christ on earth, has great privileges, but
also great responsibilities in the local church where God has placed him; among them
the following are:

1. To bear witness of Christ (Mark 16:15). It is the most important mission that every Christian has.
Our faith gains meaning when we commit to the great purpose of
to win souls for Christ. This is for everyone, without exception.
2. Always gather together (Heb. 10:24-25). We must go to the temple and other meetings with
punctuality and a proper attitude. When we do this, we feel encouraged to
serve God.
3. Pray for the Church (Eph. 6:18-20). We must fervently pray for a church.

4. Prepare to serve (Eph. 4:11-12). We must take advantage of all opportunities.

the process and the tools for each new believer to be consolidated and formed

he is a potential minister
6. Support the Church (Mal. 3:10). The church needs resources for its upkeep. Christ
it is spiritually supported, but its members are responsible for the financial aspect,
and we will do it using the financial model of the Bible, which consists of tithes and
the offerings that we willingly give from the heart faithfully by all the children of God. This
it is also the means that God uses to bless us in the material area (Mal. 3:10, Lk. 6:38,
2 Corinthians 9:6-11
7. Submit to authority (Heb. 13:17). God is the highest authority, but He has delegated that
authority to his servants and wants us to submit to them, just as we would to him
same. That will give us spiritual victory and we will walk under God's coverage.

CONCLUSION
The church was created to provide spiritual care to believers; and while

of the great blessings that he has for our congregation. If you love your church,
he is surely determined to be faithful in everything, following the vision of his leaders in a cell and
