INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION LOCATION

The boiler must be installed in a location that meets the regulations and the
minimum distances prescribed by current regulations with ventilation openings of
appropriate dimensions.

The support plane has to be horizontal.

It is advisable for the support plane to be elevated from the floor.

WARNING: if the burner is supplied with combustible gases of weight

specific higher than that of air, the electrical parts must be placed at a height
from the ground higher than 0.5 meters.

It is prohibited to install the hip outdoors because it has not been designed for that.
It has automatic ice protection systems.

EVACUATION OF COMBUSTION PRODUCTS

The correct coupling of burner/boiler/chimney allows for a significant reduction

of consumption and optimal combustion with low pollutant emissions
as an effective protection against the phenomenon of condensation.

The SMOKE CHANNEL (CHIMNEY) must be heat resistant and to the

condensations, being thermally insulated, being airtight, without constrictions or
occlusions, as vertical as possible and with dimensions conforming to the standards of
the current legislative provisions

The CONNECTION BETWEEN BOILER AND CHIMNEY must be carried out according to the
current regulations and legislation, with rigid conduits, resistant to temperature,
to condensation, to mechanical stresses, and to be perfectly airtight.
For the sealing of the joints, use materials that are resistant to at least
250°C.

Chimneys and connection joints between boiler and chimney of dimensions and shape
inadequate materials can amplify combustion noise, negatively affect
the combustion parameters and cause condensation problems.

WARNING: uninsulated discharge ducts are a potential source of

danger.

14
WATER CONNECTION
The selection and installation of the components of the installation is the responsibility of the
installer who must work properly respecting current legislation.
they include the following recommendations that must be fulfilled:

- The connections to the boiler should not bear the weight of the pipes.
installation connection: therefore, these will have to be secured and
placed in a way that does not create dangerous efforts.

- The installation of interception devices between the boiler and the tank is prohibited.
expansion and between the boiler and the safety valves.

- The expansion tank must have appropriate dimensions (they should not
water leaks occur due to normal expansion) and, if the tank of
the expansion is closed, the safety valves have to open only
exceptionally. This is to ensure that successive contributions of water are as
as limited as possible and, in any case, can be carried out and controlled from a
unique point of the installation.

- Make sure that the safety valve drains are connected.

to a discharge funnel. Otherwise, if the valves operated, they would
it would flood the premises. This is not the manufacturer's responsibility.

Make sure that water pipes are not used as grounding connections.
electrical or telephone installation. They are not suitable for that at all because
serious damage to the pipes could be verified in the short term.

- Before connecting the boiler, clean all the pipes of the installation for
eliminate any residues that could compromise proper functioning
from the boiler.

- If the water available for filling the installation is hard (> 15 GF) or corrosive (pH
less than 7.2), anticipate a treatment installation; otherwise, they could
to cause damage that cannot always be repaired.

- If impurities are detected in the tap water, install an appropriate filter.

- Avoid any accidental communication between the installation's water

heating and water for sanitary use because the former is not potable.

- 15 -
After connecting the water installation, ensure that no air remains in
the pipes.

It is advised to insulate the heating installation pipes to avoid wastage.

of heat with subsequent greater fuel consumption and a greater
environmental pollution.

ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
The electrical installation must be carried out by professionally qualified personnel.
respecting the legislative rules in force.

The electrical safety of the equipment is achieved exclusively when it is

correctly connected to an effective grounding installation carried out as
provided for by current security regulations.
The manufacturer is not responsible for any damages caused by the absence of
the grounding in the installation.

Hire professionally qualified personnel to verify the adequacy of the

electrical installation to the maximum power absorbed by the equipment, checking
in addition to the fact that the cross-section of the installation cables is suitable for the power
absorbed by it.

The use of adapters, multiple sockets, and/or extensions is not allowed for
connect the equipment to the main electricity supply line.

For the connection to the line, it is necessary to provide a bipolar switch as planned.
by the current regulations.

THE CONDENSATION PROBLEM

The condensation of water vapor contained in the exhaust gases of the

caldera (condensation) appears when the temperature of the water returning to the
the boiler is below 50 °C and is especially relevant during the first ignition of the
tomorrow when the boiler has remained off all night.

The condensation is acidic and corrosive and, in the long run, corrodes the boiler plates.

To limit the formation of condensation as much as possible, it is necessary to install a

anti-condensation pump according to the scheme described below.

- 16 -
When the burner is turned on, a thermostat located in the water return in the
boiler and regulated to 55°C with contact exchange, starts the operation of the
anti-condensation pump until the programmed temperature is reached; then,
simultaneously will turn off the anti-condensation pump and turn on the pumps of the
installation

BOILER

To completely eliminate the problem, the previous scheme must be perfected.

keeping the boiler always at the same temperature (55°C) even at night
and add another temperature limiting thermostat that prevents the valve
mixer of the installation for sending water to the boiler below 55°C.
This ensures a long lifespan for the boiler.

The flow rate of the anti-condensation pump is normally 25-30% of the flow rate of the
pump of the installation, while the required hydrostatic load is modest
because it only has to overcome the resistance of the boiler and the valves.

In the smoke chamber of the SUPERAC boilers, there is a connection for the drainage of
the eventual condensation that will form during the startup phase.

Do not connect this connection directly to the sewer network but to a

collection container to control the extent of the phenomenon.
For an exact control of the phenomenon, ensure that it does not reach the container.
condensation that forms in the chimney.

The condensation is acidic and corrosive, therefore contaminating if spilled.

directly into the sewage system.

Before pouring the container into the sewer system, bring the acidity level to
levels between pH 6.5 and 9 using neutralizing products.

- 17 -
FUEL SUPPLY

The fuel supply line must be built respecting the

rules of current laws and by professionally qualified personnel.

Before installation, it is advisable to carry out a thorough interior cleaning of all

the fuel supply pipes to eliminate any potential residues that
they could compromise the proper functioning of the boiler.

Control the interior and exterior tightness of the supply installation.

flammable.
If gas is used, the connections must be perfectly airtight.

Ensure that the fuel supply installation has the devices for
safety and control prescribed by current regulations.

Do not use the fuel installation pipes as a ground connection.

electrical or telephone installations.

Check that the boiler is prepared for operation with the type of
available fuel.

BURNER CONNECTION

For the installation of the burner, the electrical connections and regulations
necessary, consult the burner instruction manual.
Check that the chosen burner is suitable for the boiler by monitoring the
technical data of both.
The burner nozzle must have the dimensions indicated below:

OPENING AND REGULATION OF THE GATE

The gate can be opened from both sides (except in models 2910 ÷ 4070).
Normally the opening is from left to right.
To open the gate, remove the fixing nuts on the left side.

To modify the opening direction of the gate, using lifting equipment,

perform the following operations:
- hook the gate to the raising mechanism through the two holes provided in the
upper part;
- remove the four tightening nuts;
- extract the gate;
- unscrew the two nuts that will be left on the handles and
wrap them around the handles on the other side;
- reassemble the gate paying attention to insert correctly the
head of the counter nuts in the sleeves of the gate;
- screw in the four fastening nuts.

To carry out the tightening regulation:

- tighten the adjustment lock nuts without removing them from the housing
from the large gate;
- tighten the locking nuts with a cross system enough to ensure
a hermetic and uniform closure;
- tighten the adjustment locknuts again until they are locked.

Normally, every time maintenance is carried out, it is done

also the regulation of the gate.

BOILER CLEANING

Cleaning the boiler is an operation that must be carried out at least once per
once a year to remove carbon deposits from the exchange surfaces.

To carry it out, open the gate, open the rear cleaning door and remove the
turbulence devices.

Then, clean the flue ducts with a soot remover and vacuum the soot through the
rear cleaning door.
