CHAPTER I

1. Introduction
The present work will address the following theme: projection and execution of an electrical installation.
residence in the district of Morrumbene, the electrical installations are invariably part of the
in our daily lives, this happens because they are present in houses, apartments, businesses and
companies.

We can say that electrical installations are components of electrical connections. In environments
domestic or commercial, the electrical installation is basically composed of a set of wires
which is part of an inbox, this inbox will thus feed the energy of the more
various points, that can be taken or light sources (lamps).

Electric energy is essential for a large part of human activity and, with growth
population and industrial progress, each day there is an increasing demand for energy sources with
greater capacity, in our country there are several reasons for the creation of project of
implementation of this type of energy distribution system since there is a large
discrepancy when talking about electric lighting in the country.

My project will consist of:

Objetivos: Objectivo geral, Objectivo especifico;

Problematisation;
Justifications;
methodologies used in the Integrated Project;
And finally, the action plan.

1
1.1 General Objective

Perform a type 1 residential electrical installation

1.2 Specific objectives

Develop a project for installation in a residence

To collect data from the appropriate residence in order to execute the project.

Executing the appropriate project following all the norms, rules, and regulations.

2
1.3 Justifications

Electricity is the foundation for the development of communities today, as

virtually everything depends on electric current, energy is also a good alternative for the
development for our country or for our community in general, electricity
being somewhat inhibited from practicing certain economic activities whose main basis is the
energy, so this is one of the alternatives.

The choice of the theme is due to the fact that the researcher is attending the electricity course.
industrial with the aim of further improving the knowledge acquired during your
training.

3
1.4 Problematization

In recent years, investigations and research regarding the use of energy have been increasing and
the main reason that has always been the need for man in the field to want a source
electricity, in the current period that we live, energy is the basis for any activities of the day-to-
they being economic and not economic noting that electricity can establish itself
what is a right that the entire Mozambican population should enjoy, thus the idea of installing arises
a lighting circuit in a type 1 residence raises the following question:

The electrification of residences in the Cambine neighborhood will contribute to the improvement of
quality of life of the residents?

One of the objectives of this work is to present and analyze the principles of calculation and
dimensioning of Low Voltage Electrical Installations.

Using purely theoretical knowledge, we can perform the calculation of a magnitude.

electric in numerous ways, which lead us to more or less approximate results. In
rule, considering a greater number of variables allows for obtaining more results
approximately. However, it is often complicated to know all the necessary variables and
the exact conditions for the implementation of the equipment and materials in question.

2.3.1 RESIDENTIAL INSTALLATION PROJECT

According to (RTIEBT, 2000, p. 26) in order to correctly design an electrical installation

use is necessary for it to meet the technical quality requirements and
security, and with regulatory requirements. As there is currently none in the Republic of
Mozambique has its own regulation for the execution of electrical installations for use.
we will enjoy the criteria adapted today in Europe and in Portugal. For both
regulations are in accordance with the international standards of the Electrotechnical Commission

international (IEC) and European standards (EN).

7
Electrical installation for the use of electric power - according to the safety regulations of
installations for the use of electrical energy (RSIUEE). Part I. Article 3 states that it is the installation
that allows users to apply electrical energy by transforming it into another form
of energy.

2.3.2 Protection Devices

According to NBR 5410/04, "conductors must be protected by one or more devices of

automatic sectioning against overloads and short-circuits”. After sizing the

conductors of the circuits and the conduits, it is necessary to determine the protection of the circuits
due to

probability of recurring and short circuits occurring. The protection devices of

circuits are fuses and circuit breakers.

The most widely used device in residential electrical installations today is circuit breakers.

thermomagnetic (DIM), and this model will be used as a reference for sizing.

2.3.3 Sizing of the Protection Device

It is very simple to size the correct breaker that will protect a circuit. Just respect the
P
equation:I = where I is the current of the circuit; P is the power and V is the voltage.

2.3.4 Residual Differential Device (RCD)

As of Dec/1997, it is mandatory in all low voltage electrical installations in Brazil, the

use of the so-called RCD (residual current device) in electrical circuits that meet the
following locations: bathrooms, kitchens, kitchenettes, laundry rooms, service areas and areas
externals.

This device protects against electric shocks and fires by shutting off the electrical circuit in case of

there is a current leak that could put the lives of people and animals at risk
domestic and the electrical installation itself, therefore it is a current leakage switch.

8
The residual current switch consists of a current transformer, a trigger
it is a switch mechanism, and it is activated by the comparison of the input current with that of
output, called "Residual Differential Current" (RDC).

2.3.5 General Frame of Power and Light

According to (Apostila_Projeto_Instalacoes_ Eletricas_Parte III_v7, 2012, p. 50) The panel of

distribution, also called distribution board or general power and light board, is the center of
distribution of the electrical installation, where it receives the conductors coming from the meter, contains the

protection devices (circuit breakers); distributes the terminal circuits that will supply the power
the entire installation.

The distribution board must:

to include a Residual Differential protection device against electrical shocks;

to be installed in an easily accessible place, with adequate protection against external influences and the most

closest possible to the residence's load center (place where there is a greater concentration of
high power loads: kitchen, laundry area, bathroom, etc.

to have a reserve for future expansions, compatible with the quantity and type of
initially planned circuits.

According to NBR5410/04, this reserve provision must comply with the following criteria:

According to (RTIEBT, 2000, p.) Electrical panel - set of equipment, suitably

grouped, including their connections, support structure and enclosures, intended to protect,
to command or control the electrical installation.

All electrical installations must be equipped with an entrance electrical panel, therefore it should
to be inside the premises, served by the installation, as much as possible close to the normal access of
enclosure and the location of the electrical power entry. Furthermore, it should be installed in a location

suitable and easily accessible, so that the devices mounted on it are in relation to
flooring, in a position easily accessible between 1m and 1.80m.

9
The panel must be equipped with phase busbar, neutral bus, and ground bus or connector.
properly identified. It must be equipped with a general cut-off device that cuts
simultaneously all active conductors (phase and neutral). The main disconnect device shall have
a minimum current corresponding to the expected power of the installation.

All input boards must have a minimum protection code of IP20 and IK04.

2.3.6 Circuit Breaker

According to (RTIEBT, 200, p.256) Circuit breaker - a device for cutting, controlling, and protection,

endowed with suitable cutting power for short-circuit currents and whose operation can be
automatically produce under predetermined conditions. This device must be assembled
inside the electrical panel.

According to NB, circuit breakers are switching and protection devices with the capacity to connect and
interruption arising when abnormal working conditions occur in the circuit, such as short-circuiting
circuit or overload.

According to (RTIEBT, 200, p. 100) switch - device for controlling and turning on lamps. This
The device must be mounted on the wall near the normal access of the dwelling, in a location
susceptible, next to the door at a height between 1.10m and 1.20m.

2.4 Technical rules for low voltage electrical installation (According to the RTIEBT)

Activity plans for the execution of the installation

I. Identification and signaling of the exact position for the location of the panels, lamps,
switches and junction boxes.
II. Installation of the distribution board, outlets, lamps, switches, and junction boxes.
III. Clamping of the conductors.
IV. Connections and/or connection of conductors in the protection, control, cut devices,
plugs and lamps.
V. Installation testing.
VI. Feeding and delivery of the installation.

Electrical installations must be designed to ensure:

a) the protection of people, animals, and property, in accordance with what is indicated in section 131

b) the operation of the electrical installation according to the intended use.

2.3.8 Conductor section (installation manual)

The cross-section of the conductors should be determined based on:

a) of the maximum allowable temperature in the conductors;

b) of the permissible voltage drop;

c) the electromechanical requests that may occur in the event of a short circuit;

2.3.9 In case of a short circuit or voltage drop (RTIEBT)

These conditions only meet the safety aspects of electrical installations, and may
if it is necessary to use sections higher than those required for safety for other reasons (for example,
of an economic nature.

Note: the conditions for determining the sections of the conductors are those indicated in the sections
following:

Acceptable currents based on the maximum allowable temperature;

Requests in case of short circuit;

Requests due to current defects;

3 METHODOLOGY
According to Stef (2000), methodology is a set of technical methods that are used to
elaboration of work. However, methods can be understood as a way to reach
truth in science or the set of procedures that organize thought and clarify the
look for the appropriate means to get there.

3.1 Experimental method

Experimental research is characterized by directly manipulating variables related to

object of study and aims to test hypotheses related to the conviction of those who
is researching, (NaíraTumelero, 2019).

According to Gil (1999), the experiment is considered the best example of research.
scientific. For the author, experimental research consists of determining a study object,
in the selection of the variables capable of influencing it and in the definition of the control norms and of
observation of the effects that the variable produces on the object.

In this research method, the researcher is responsible for developing experiments where the
variables will be imposed and controlled, or only analyzed

In this method, I will create an experimental prototype that will demonstrate the functioning of the

PTUG's = STUG's * FP

PTUG's=600VA*0.8

PTUG's= 480W

Calculation of total active power (W) = PI + PTUG's + PTUE's

Calculation of total active power (W) = 540W + 480W + 1600W

Calculation of total active power (W) = 2620W

Given that the total active power is 540W, being it below 12000W, the supply
according to the Brazilian standard (NSR/ANBT) it will be single-phase, that is, obtained between one phase and
