o Begin filling in the grades for Modules 1, 2, 3, and the final for each student.
o From here, we will begin to work with formulas. When you structure a formula
mathematically, you have a parenthesis assignment to separate and give priority to the
operations: in Excel it works the same. Now you are going to calculate the overall average of each student;
do the following: SeeAnimation formula-grades.

o Select cell I4 and write: =(E4*0.1)+(F4*0.2)+(G4*0.2)+(H4*0.5)

The sign = indicates that an operation will be performed and a result will be displayed in the cell.
In (E4*.10) you are multiplying the grade of module 1 by 10%, which is what it is worth of the final average.
The + sign indicates that you will also add what is inside.
In (F4*0.2) you are multiplying the grade of module 2 by the 20% that it represents of the final average.
The sign + indicates that you are also going to add what is inside.
In (G4*0.2) you are multiplying the grade of module 3 by the 20% that is what it is worth of the final average.
The + sign indicates that you will also add what is inside.
In (H4*0.5) you are multiplying the final exam grade by 50%, which is what it is worth in the average.
final.
Now perform these operations just as you saw in the animation:

o Position yourself over cell I5 and write: =(E5*0.1)+(F5*0.2)+(G5*0.2)+(H5*0.5)

o Select cells I4 and I5.

o Place your cursor in the bottom corner of cell I5. Your cursor will change to a cross like this
next:

up to cell I17.

o Save your document.
