characteristics, qualities, or properties of the thing being referred to.
Examples of adjectives include:
- Descriptive adjectives: happy, blue, big, soft
- Quantitative adjectives: three, many, few
- Demonstrative adjectives: this, that, these, those
- Interrogative adjectives: which, what
Adjectives help us add detail, precision, and interest to our language. They can describe various
aspects of a noun, such as:
- Size: large, small, tall
- Color: red, green, yellow
- Shape: round, square, rectangular
- Emotion: happy, sad, excited
- Origin: American, Italian, Asian
For example:
- "The big red car." (Here, "big" and "red" are adjectives modifying the noun "car")
