purpose is to link DORM A devices.

General information
The installation and configuration of the W INMAG gateway on a DORMA system are described below.
Basic knowledge of W INMAG plus and the TMSOFT configuration software from DORMA are prerequisites in
this description.

DORM A TM S Soft [Link] programming softw are should be installed on the computer or within a
netw ork connected to the W INM AG computer prior to installation and configuration of the
W INM AG gatew ay.

Netw ork allocation


Go to the Edit system configuration m enu in W INMAG.
Actuate the tree node “W INMAG plus: Master“. All available system s are displayed for selection in the right-
hand colum n.
Select “DORMA gateway“ and then press the “<<<“ button.

The network properties dialog appears (see Fig. 6). Enter a num ber from 1 to 32766 as a virtual address and
then press the “Driver configure… “ button.

Create and assign data source


A configuration window now appears (see Fig. 10).
The standard input is identical to the ODBC setting of the DORMA OPC driver.
These properties can be checked by accessing the W indows m enu:
Start->Properties->Adm in->Data source(ODBC)->System -DSN .
Check whether ”TMS_MYSQL_DB“ system source already exists in the “ODBC Data Source Adm inistrator“
dialog (see Fig. 7).
Actuate the “Add… “ button if this is not the case.

Select “MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver“ as the “Data source nam e“ in the “Create New Data Source” dialog window
(see Fig. 8) and press “Finish“.

Enter the “Data Source Nam e” (abbreviated as DSN), “Server” and “Database” properties in the
“Connector/ODBC 3.51.14 Add Data Source Nam e“ dialog window (see Fig. 9). The following rules should be
observed during this:
DSN (m arked red in Fig. 9): you can freely select the DSN
nam e. The standard setting in W INMAG is “TMS_MYSQL_DB“
Server (m arked blue in Fig. 9):
W here the TMS-Soft system is not running on the sam e
com puter as W INMAG, enter the alias nam e for the com puter
or IP address of the TMS-Soft system as “Server“.
W here a firewall is active on the com puter, check and enter
(where appropriate) the port “3306“.
“localhost“ should otherwise be entered as the server.
Database (m arked yellow in Fig. 9): please enter
“TMS_DB_4_2“ as a fixed setting.
Press OK to complete configuration.

Exactly the sam e entries should be realised in the “Dorm a-Driver Properties“ dialog in Fig. 10 as in the
“Connector-ODBC 3.51.14 Add Data Source Nam e“ in Fig. 9.
The following apply in this context:
Data Source Nam e in Fig. 9 = DORMA DSN nam e in Fig. 10 (both m arked red)
Server in Fig. 9 = DORMA database server in Fig. 10 (both m arked blue)
Database in Fig. 9 = DORMA database nam e in Fig. 10 (both m arked yellow)

Press “OK“ to com plete driver configuration. “OK“ should then be pressed again to com plete “Edit net“.

The network configuration should then appear as follows (see Fig. 11).

Select the "DORMA rescue route

Edit object

The "Edit object“ dialog appears (see Fig. 12).

Press the "OK“ button.

Actuate the "Edit system configuration“ sym bol again to im port the new properties.

The inform ation window now appears (see Fig. 14). System data is loaded anew. Press "OK“.

Create import data A new sym bol appears in the W indows task bar when the network configuration is loaded
anew (Fig. 15).

Click this new DORMA driver sym bol with the right-hand m ouse button and then select the "Create im port file“
m enu.

A dialog window "EXP2W INMAGIm port“ appears (see Fig. 16). Press the "Next>“ button.

The driver searches for all supported device types in the database and displays these in the following dialog
window (Fig. 17).

Press the "Next>“ button.

The trigger table created is listed in the following


dialog window (Fig. 18).

Continue with the “Next>“ button.

The im port file with the triggers is now com pleted.


Please press the “Finish“ button (see Fig. 19).

Now determ ine the path and a nam e for the text file
created for im porting to W INMAG (Fig. 20). An
exam ple is “MyTextIm port“.

Import data to W INM AG

Now return to W INMAG and press the "Edit system configuration“ sym bol again.

Go to “Edit net configuration“ again and click the “DORMA rescue route watchguard“ object which you have
added previously.

Then press the “File im port“ button (see Fig. 21).

Now im port the text file previously saved with the DORMA triggers.

An overview appears with all im ported triggers (Fig. 22).

Press “All“ to im port all triggers. You can also im port only part of the list by m arking selected item s.

The “Edit object“ dialog is then displayed again. Press “OK“ to acknowledge.

Fig. 23 illustrates all the im ported triggers under the “DORMA rescue route watchguard“ object.

Now press the “Edit system configuration“ sym bol again to com plete configuration. The system updates the
newly-configured data.

After the system has been successfully reloaded, press the “F8“ key to access the “Table view“.

DORM A gateway

Go to the W indows m enu Start->Properties->Adm in->Service if the “DORMA Gateway” trigger is indicated with
“Error”.

Check here in the “Service“ list whether the “TMS-PC-Gateway V4.2.0“ service is already running. (Fig. 25).

Change the “Startup type“ of the “TMS-PC-Gateway“ service


from “Manual“ to “Autom atic“.

Activate the service with the “Start” key.

After successfully starting the service, press the “OK“ button


to term inate the “Properties” window.

Simulation and control with W INM AG

The gateway for DORMA devices has now been com pleted. You can now view the individual doorways in the
W INMAG table view, along with sim ulating and controlling using the com m ands in the dropdown lists.
