Science Notes: Physics - Newton's Laws of Motion
1. First Law (Law of Inertia): An object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line
unless acted upon by an external force.
2. Second Law: The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it and
inversely proportional to its mass. Formula: F = m * a
3. Third Law: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Applications: - Seatbelts in cars (First Law) - Rocket launch (Third Law) - Force calculations in
mechanics (Second Law)
