1. PROJECT RATIONALE
Problem:
Women empowerment faces various challenges, many of which stem from societal norms, cultural attitudes, and structural inequalities. Here are some common problems faced in the pursuit of women's empowerment:
Gender Discrimination: Discrimination against women persists in many forms, including unequal access to education, employment opportunities, and decision-making roles.
Gender-Based Violence: Women often face various forms of violence, including domestic violence, sexual harassment, and trafficking, which hinder their ability to participate fully in society.
Unequal Access to Education: In many parts of the world, girls have limited access to education due to factors such as poverty, cultural norms, and early marriage, which limits their opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Gender Pay Gap: Women frequently earn less than men for the same work, contributing to economic inequality and financial dependence, which can hinder their autonomy and empowerment.
Underrepresentation in Leadership: Women are often underrepresented in leadership positions in politics, business, and other sectors, limiting their ability to influence decision-making processes and advocate for their rights.
Limited Reproductive Rights: Restrictions on reproductive rights, such as limited access to contraception and abortion, can undermine women's autonomy over their bodies and reproductive choices.

Goal:
The goals of women empowerment aim to achieve gender equality and ensure that women have equal rights, opportunities, and resources as men. Some key goals include:
Equal Access to Education: Ensuring that girls and women have equal access to quality education at all levels, including primary, secondary, and tertiary education, to empower them with knowledge and skills.
Economic Empowerment: Promoting women's economic participation and ensuring equal pay for equal work, as well as access to financial resources, credit, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Political Participation: Increasing women's representation and participation in decision-making processes at all levels of governance, including in political leadership positions and public institutions.
Health and Well-being: Improving women's access to healthcare services, including reproductive healthcare, and addressing issues such as maternal mortality, gender-based violence, and HIV/AIDS.
Legal and Human Rights: Ensuring that women enjoy equal rights and protections under the law, including legal recognition of their rights to property ownership, inheritance, and freedom from discrimination and violence.
Social and Cultural Empowerment: Challenging harmful social norms and stereotypes that perpetuate gender inequality and promoting positive attitudes towards women's rights and gender equality.
