the benchmark provided by the contractor level will be transferred on all the corners and chalk lines will be marked
as per engineer approved.
The wall angles will be fixed along the marked ceiling line depending on the substrate at 600mm to centre spacing.
Before fixing the wall angle the substrate has to receive the necessary finishes as per the finish schedule.
Fixing of hangers will be done as per engineers’ approval and using hanger anchorage devices of the soffit as per the

– Non-compliance with updated codes/specifications.
• Fabricate new members from the same or higher grade of steel to match drawings.
• In the shop, blast clean, prime, and coat the steel before delivery to site.

All oil, grease, dirt, loose mill scale and any other foreign substance shall be removed from the substrate surface to
be painted/coated, polished and whitewashed by the use of a solvent and clean wiping material.
Following the solvent cleaning, the surface shall be cleaned by scrapping, chipping, blasting, wire brushing or other
effective means as approved by the engineer.
Surfaces of stainless steel, aluminium bronze and machined surfaces adjacent to metal work being cleaned or
painted shall be protected by effective masking or suitable means, during the cleaning and painting operations.
All the surfaces to be painted/coated with approved quality paint/ coat shall be free from dust, dirt, fungus, rust etc.
Paints and coating materials shall be in a thoroughly mixed condition at the time of application.
PROJECT: LABOTEL ACCOMODATION WET AREA RENOVATION WORK
All work shall be done in a workman like manner leaving the finished surface free from drips, ridges, waves, lapse and
brush marks.
Paint shall be applied under dry and dust free conditions unless approved by the engineer paint shall not be applied
when the temperature of the metal or the surrounding air is below 7 degree centigrade.
Each coat of paint shall be allowed to dry or harden thoroughly before the succeeding coat is applied.
Surface to be painted that will be inaccessible after installation shall be completely painted prior to installation.
Methodology
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be clean and free from debris, loose or flaking material, standing water, oil, grease and organic
growth.
The ceramic tile surface will be sanded using grinder enough ventilation and recommend vacuum pump to be used
for reducing dust emerged from ceramic tile.
Wall protrusions that likely to punch through should be removed either by using chipping hammer or grinder.
Repair the excessive pinholes, and similar imperfections (if any) to eliminate uneven surface.
Raise an inspection request for surface preparation (RFI) prior to the waterproofing work commences.
Priming
Application of more than one coat may be required to give the equivalent dry film thickness to one spray applied
coat.
At application temperatures below 10 °C, drying times will be significantly extended and spraying characteristics may
be impaired.
In order to achieve optimum water and chemical resistance the temperature needs to be maintained above
10ºC whilst curing.
PROJECT: LABOTEL ACCOMODATION WET AREA RENOVATION WORK
• Drying, curing and pot life times should be considered as a guide only.
• The curing reaction of this product commences immediately the two components are mixed.
• Due to the reaction being temperature dependent, the curing and pot life will be approximately halved by a 10 °C
increase in temperature and doubled by a 10 °C decrease in temperature.
➢ DELTA Shield HP 400 can only be applied using high pressure heated plural component spray equipment (Graco
Reactor 2 E-XP2) by trained and approved applicators.
➢ In ambient temperatures below 15C chemical drums should be pre-heated using band heaters to 30 – 40C.
➢ The B-side component should be thoroughly power stirred prior to the commencement of spraying and
periodically during the spraying process to ensure there is no settling out of the B-side chemical components.
➢ The Pigment is always mixed into the B-side using a power stirrer.
➢ Both the A-side and B-side drums should be fitted with desiccant dryers.
➢ Primary heaters should be set at between 65-75C. Adjustments can be made on-site based on environmental
conditions, mixing module size and application circumstances.
➢ Hose heaters should be set at 70C. Adjustments can be made on-site based on environmental conditions, mixing
module size and application circumstances.
➢ All applicators of DELTA Shield HP 400 should be trained and approved by the manufacturer.
➢ Spray applicators should wear appropriate PPE including approved breathing equipment, eye wear, Nylex or
similar light weight spray suit and appropriate covered footwear.
➢ Store chemical drums in a cool dry environment. Avoid storing chemicals for long periods in direct sunlight.
➢ Ensure chemical drums are kept tightly sealed and avoid ingress of air and moisture.
The B - side component should always be thoroughly power stirred prior to use. For coloured applications; add DELTA
Pigment to the B - side component only at a rate of 15% by volume.
Combine the A side and B-side components and power stir again before applying to substrate.
PROJECT: LABOTEL ACCOMODATION WET AREA RENOVATION WORK
To ensure full physical characteristics are achieved within the finished coating use graduated beakers / containers to
ensure accurate 1:1 by volume mixing of component A and component B.
DELTA Shield F 500 can be applied by airless spray gun or with short haired rollers. Manufacturer recommend is using
8 - 13 mm Nap Mohair roller in the widest format possible.
In the event DELTA Shield F 500 is to be pigmented in a very light colour be aware that additional coats may be
necessary to achieve the required hiding power.
When using very light colours such as light grey or white the pigment loading can be increased by an additional 5%
(to 20%) by volume of the B-side component.
The tack free and curing times of DELTA Shield F 500 are influenced by the environmental conditions at the time of
the application.
Heat and humidity will accelerate the reactivity and curing of the DELTA Shield F 500.
In hot and humid environments only mix small amounts of product at a time to enable full application of mixed
product.
In cold environments the tack free and cure times can be extended considerably especially in environments less than
10C.
When applying DELTA Shield F 500 using a roller do not “over work” the product. Roll it out and leave it so it can self-
level.
Continuously rolling over the product will inhibit the products self-levelling properties
