Activity Steps:
Phase 1: Opportunity Spotting
1. Local Problem Identification: As a trio, identify a common problem, inefficiency, or unmet need
prevalent in a specific Filipino context. This could be within your local community, school, a specific
industry (e.g., food, transport, tourism, agriculture), or a daily life scenario in the Philippines.
- Examples: Long queues for public transport, food waste in local markets, difficulty for small artisans to
reach wider markets, lack of affordable sustainable products, challenges in remote learning access,
managing household waste.
2. Problem Validation: Briefly discuss why this problem is significant and for whom. Is it a widespread
issue? Does it affect a specific group of people? This helps confirm it's a genuine "opportunity."
Phase 2: Creative Solution & Concept Development
1. Brainstorming Solutions: Once the problem is clearly defined, brainstorm at least three diverse and
innovative solutions. Encourage "out-of-the-box" thinking. Consider leveraging technology, community
collaboration, unique business models, or sustainable practices.
2. Solution Selection: As a group, select the most promising and creative solution. Discuss its
potential impact, feasibility, and uniqueness.
3. Concept Outline: Develop a brief outline of your chosen entrepreneurial concept:
- Name of your "Startup/Initiative": A catchy, relevant name.
- The Problem: Clearly state the identified problem.
- The Solution (Product/Service): Describe your innovative offering. How does it address the problem
creatively?
- Target Market: Who are your primary customers or beneficiaries?
- Unique Value Proposition: What makes your solution stand out from existing alternatives (if any)?
- Key Resources/Partners (briefly): What might you need to get started (e.g., technology, community
support, specific skills)
Phase 3: Mini Business Pitch Preparation
1. Structure the Pitch: Prepare a pitch that covers the following:
- Hook : Grab attention by vividly describing the problem.
- The Opportunity : Explain why this problem is a significant entrepreneurial opportunity.
- Our Solution : Detail your innovative product/service and how it creatively solves the problem.
- Impact & Vision : Who benefits? What is the potential positive change? What's your vision for this
venture?
