It is notable that parents often purchase stuffs on children's

every request, and allow them to act freely without


boundaries. This essay will firstly discuss the
disadvantages that this trend can bring, then mention its
potential effects on children’s development.
There could be two possible drawbacks of this permissive
parenting style. The primary disadvantage is that children
will be lack of independence. These childen will be
accustomed to being indulged by their parents for every
duty. For example, many children are given to much time
to play outside without taking any responsibility for
household chores like sweeping the floor, making dishes,
or even watering trees. Consequently, these pampered
children cannot gain any life skills through their
development, leading to the unability to tackle their future
problems. Another major concern is that overindulgence
might lead to children’s bad characteristic. In fact, without
strict parental supervision, children can become
disrespectful to those around them, or even the elders in
their family.
