Problem-Solving
The approach to problem-solving with 10 questions provides effective methods to
solve difficult problems. This approach increases the critical thinking in the individual and
performs the systematic analysis of the problem. The keytakeawayof this problem-solving
method is to solve the problem effectively by defining the problem before trying to find
solutions (Hoerl et al., 2021). There are instances where people directly jump into
problemswith their ideas without understanding the issue that causes the problem. This
approach leads to an effective solution to the problem by asking the question “What exactly is
the problem?”. This question helps in analyzing the issue by dividing it into different parts to
understand the problem clearly. The correct framing of the problem will help individuals
develop more effective solutions rather than just fixing the problem.
The second key lesson from the video was the role of critically questioning the
assumptions. Many times the problems are approached with an assumptionof what might be
causing the problem. That often leads to solutions being misleading or finding solutions
thatdo not completely solve the problem. The video suggestsaskingquestions like “What
assumptions am I making” which will help in challenging the present assumptions with a
unique perspective. This way the factors that are not visible can be highlighted which
areinfluencing the problem. I will be applying the information gained in this video to improve
the efficiency of the workplace. This will be done by collecting the data that will help me to
understand the reason which causing the problem in the workplace. After understanding the
issue I will then givevarious solutions instead of just one. This will help in understanding the
various potential solutions avoiding the pre-conceived assumption about the problem.
