I. Project Information:
Food processing services transform raw ingredients into consumable food
products or ingredients, utilizing methods like canning, freezing, and pasteurization
to enhance safety, extend shelf life, and create convenience foods. These services
also offer product development, packaging, and distribution for various industries,
including meat, dairy, beverages, baked goods, and frozen foods.

QUALIFICATION OF TRAINEES:
1. Must have commitment to finish the duration of the training courses;
2. Must be physically fit;
3. Must have interest in the qualification;
4. Must be willing to undergo competency assessment when applicable.
5. At least High School/ Senior High graduate.
II. Rationale:
In Barangay Ipao, specifically an elderly individuals and a high school
graduates are faced a significant hardship in performing food preservation. This
project aims offer essential support, it is a crucial industry that transforms raw
agricultural products into consumable food items through various methods such as
drying, freezing, canning, and fermentation. It enhances food shelf life, ensures
safety, and adds value to agricultural produce. It is also, to maintain the good quality
and technique of preserving foods towards individual in performing fermentation.
However, it is tangible for each individual in demonstrating proper procedure and it
will be also applying their skills in food processing. Lastly, it will seek positive impact
by patronizing and engaging to pursue with good benefits in the future endeavor.
III. Objectives:
To provide target participants with knowledge and skills in the
different livelihood/industrial skills training programs to engage
them either in wage or self-employment
To utilize the idle time of unemployed individuals in the conduct
of productive activities.
To cater to challenged individuals who cannot attend formal
schooling and training.
IV. Project Description:
STEP (Special Training for Employment/Entrepreneur Program) is a training
program that seeks to address the specific skills needs of the communities and
promote employment, through entrepreneurial, self-employment, and service-
oriented activities.
This training is being proposed for implementation to provide training
programs in the [Link], Calbayog City, Province of Samar to enhance the
employability of the program beneficiaries through Special Training for Employment
(STEP) Program delivery. The identified programs may also help the participants in
their personal needs and maybe a source of additional income, in order to uplift the
economic status of the family. This training modality aims to bring the services of
TESDA right or near the residence of the target beneficiaries who cannot attend the
training programs in the school or training centers due to life challenges such as
financial, family concerns and other personal problems likewise, it aims to cost -
share resources with the student of Northwest Samar State University, and other
stakeholders in the implementation of skills training program.

convenience foods. To provide target participants with knowledge and skills in the

career in this field. To ensure quality and standardization in the food and services
industry, TESDA accredits training assessment centers that offer relevant programs
for aspiring to be a professional. These centers provide hands-on training and
assessments to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in
their chosen field.
