If the voltage across a circuit is doubled and the resistance remains constant, what

happens to the current? (1)

A. It remains the same B. It doubles

C. It is halved D. It quadruples

Assertion (A): The sky appears blue because blue light is scattered more than red light.

Reason (R): Blue light has a shorter wavelength than red light.

4. Nichrome wire of length L and radius r has resistance of 10 Ω. How would the
resistance of the wire change when (i) Only length of the wire is doubled? (ii) Only
diameter of the wire is doubled. Justify your answer.

i) What is ‘dispersion of white light’?

ii)How will you use two identical glass prisms so that a narrow beam of white light
incident on one prism emerges out of the second prism as white light? Draw and label th
ray diagram.

i) Define resistance and resistivity and also give the relation between them.

ii) Calculate the resistance of an electric bulb which allows a current of 10A when
connected to a 220 V power source?
