User logs into the analytics platform

From the main menu, navigates to:



→ Settings or Tracking > Event Builder

Lands on the Event Builder interface

Step 1: Search or Create Event

User sees a list of existing events in the left panel

User has two options:

Search for an existing event by name

Click [+ New Event] to create a new one

Step 2: Define Basic Event Details

For a new or existing event, user fills/edit fields:

Event ID: Unique internal name (e.g., checkout_initiated)

Display Name: Human-readable label (e.g., “Checkout Started”)

Description: Optional explanation

Step 3: Categorize and Tag the Event

User selects a Category from dropdown



(e.g., Authentication, E-commerce, Funnel)

User adds Tags using chip-style multiselect



(e.g., Engagement, Conversion, Retention)

User sets Status: Active, Deprecated, or Draft

Step 4: Add Event Properties

User adds one or more event properties (schema fields):

Name (e.g., product_id)

Type (string, number, boolean, enum, object)

Mark as Required or Optional

Add a short description (optional)

User can add/edit/delete properties inline t

Step 5: Review and Save

User previews the event payload structure (optional)

Clicks:

[Save Draft] to keep editing later, or

[Publish] to activate the event tracking config

System shows confirmation message:



→ “Event saved successfully” or highlights errors

Step 6: Post-Save Options (Optional)

User can:

View audit history

Roll back to previous version

Duplicate the event

Export schema (JSON or CSV)

Share with other team members
