Course Title:
Signals and Systems
Course code:
ELE-322L (0+1)

Lab Course Overview:

After completing this lab course students should be able to use Matlab to

1. Understand basic Matlab commands.

2. Plot different continuous time and discrete time functions.
3. Perform basic operations on functions like addition, subtraction, multiplication and
division.
4. Perform signal transformations like time shifting, time scaling and time reversal.
5. Convolve two or more signals.
6. Use for loop to plot multiple signals with different frequencies and time periods and
implement reconstruction of periodic signals using Fourier series coefficients both in
continuous time domain and discrete time domain.
7. Find the frequency response of causal LTI systems represented by constant coefficient
differential and difference equations.
8. Study the time and frequency characteristics of systems with reference to frequency
response, impulse response and step response.
9. Plot the pole zero plots of systems represented by constant coefficient differential and
difference equations
