DEFINITION
Convergent networks or multiservice networks refer to the integration
of voice, data, and video services over a single IP-based network such as
network level protocol. Converged networks have had and will continue to have
technical difficulties to overcome since the different services to be offered have
different characteristics and network requirements, therefore it is important to talk about it here
ARCHITECTURE
A convergence network based on IP is built on three key elements:
Technologies that enable the provision of multiple services over a data network.
A multipurpose network, built on an architecture of
functional network distributed and based on IP.
•A system open of protocols standards ripe e
internationally accepted. The elements and protocols of a network of
convergence are:
Elements:
Media Gateways, which provide the interconnection between the IP network and
the network services provided by other networks such as the PSTN
traditional wireless networks.
Signaling gateways that translate signaling protocols
call between the different networks.
Media gateway controllers or softswitches that coordinate
the media gateways according to the signaling information received by
the signaling gateways.
Protocols:
H.323: developed by the ITU-T to standardize the establishment
calls and the transmission of multimedia over switched networks through
packets that do not guarantee any QoS. H.323 is based on RTP (Real
TimeProtocol) from the IETF and standard codecs from the G series. Although this was the
the first protocol used in VoIP, the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) of IETF has
gained greater acceptance because it has simpler mechanisms for
the establishment of the call.
SIP: is an application layer protocol that can establish, modify
terminate sessions or multimedia calls over an IP network,
including conferences, distance learning, internet telephony, etc.
MGCP: media gateway control protocol, it is used to control media
gateways from external elements through normal calls. A
The alternative protocol that surpasses it is MEGACO or H.248.
Highlighted Advantages
This is especially important for the sales department, advisors
teleworkers who spend a large part of their time outside the office, but
they still need the same network capabilities, regardless of the
place where they are found. In particular, IP telephony offers advantages.
important to hotel workers and the people who work in hotels,
airports or other transit places. Through the convergence of networks, it also
achieves a more effective use of space through the promotion of
rationalization and consolidation. Thus, many companies that are going to install the
IP telephony is saving approximately 100 dollars per position.
work, as they can use a PC and an IP phone on the same port
Ethernet. Another important advantage is the ultimate opportunity that these networks offer.
to create an IT infrastructure that activates voice on a single network with a
minimum investment. Recent studies conducted with one of the main
mobile phone operators show a potential savings of more than 600,000
annual dollars through the use of converging networks. The infrastructure provides
services and centralized management of voice traffic, which allows for the
organization to eliminate several hundred decentralists from its retail stores and achieve
best voice rates through traffic aggregation. Regarding the center of
customer service, so vital for many organizations, the contact centers
multichannel allows companies to humanize the corporate relationship and allows the
access to the most important data. This increases the productivity of the agents,
administration times are reduced and it helps to improve satisfaction of
client.
Start with the company's WAN network (if it has one), unify it into a single medium.
voice, data, and video over the same medium gives us the benefits of:
3. Technological substitution is being carried out based on the fact that the equipment is already
obsolete or unusable.
4. Security needs in voice conversations, a call between
IP phones, the voice is encrypted.
At the end of the project, you will have a Converged Network which was justified by the
savings and benefits it brought to the company.
We know that young people are using social networks, but what is the impact of
these activities in them and in their relationships with others? Most of the
conversations focus on negative outcomes - online harassment,
issues of privacy, commercialization, and fear of strangers. However,
there is a growth in research that highlights the positive results of using
social networks, a broad term that describes Internet services that allow
to users communicate with shared content. These investigations are
important to think about what young people can achieve using social media
like Facebook and MySpace.
A recent report from the Pew Research Center found that users of
Facebook reported having more close friends, being more involved in politics,
and they showed more confidence than those who did not use the website.
Similarly, a series of academic publications produced by the team of
Research at Michigan State University reveals the benefits of capital
Facebook social for university students.
Social capital refers to the benefits gained from our social relationships.
For example, close friends and family provide us with social support. Although acquaintances do not.
they are very useful in those situations, they provide us with other benefits. Our friends
they tend to be like us, and have access to the same types of information,
but acquaintances can give us access to different groups of people and new ones.
information.
Our research suggests that social networks like Facebook help us
to have access to diverse and valuable information.
For example, there is a better chance of finding a job opportunity
someone you don't know very well than someone you know well.
What does that mean for young people? Research is beginning to explore
this topic, but I hope that some of these dynamics are similar. Children
they benefit from interactions with children who are not like them, or who have
different experiences. Parents and teachers will continue to play a role
important in managing the experiences of young people while they find the
various ideas and perspectives represented in our global society, and accessible
through social media.
Social media is not going to disappear. What we use today may not exist in
10 years, but its foundations will continue - the personal profile, the ability to create a
contact list, and easy methods to convey messages to them and read the latest
news from them. The art of presenting oneself appropriately to achieve their goals,
controlling these networks and interactions, and helping others when they need us
skills that young people will need to be successful in their lives
professionals.
Parents, teachers, and other mentors must help young people develop these
skills. Being involved is the best way to help young people, and this
it means looking beyond the fearmongering news and considering other dimensions
of social networks.
