CHAPTER I: INTRODUCTION
The community pharmacies that we currently know are characterized by two
different functions: the promotion of public health and the transmission of knowledge
regarding the medications. However, for it to reach this format, the pharmacy
has undergone several changes throughout the history of humanity: from the first
uses of plants for medicinal purposes, until the emergence of the pharmacy and, finally,
moving towards community pharmacy centered on the needs of society,
adding to the profession various activities provided by professionals
Pharmacists. The profession can be practiced in hospitals, in the industry and in
wholesale distribution, among others, being that the pharmacist is designated as
"medication specialist" is one of the public health agents. To each of these
sectors exist associated with distinct areas such as scientific, technological, technical and
among others.
The technological field has undergone immeasurable evolution in recent years in terms of
very significant in the historical sphere. Nowadays, the professional has to
update to keep up with the launch of thousands of new programs daily.
Electronic communication has also made a great leap for technology. There are some
years, to communicate with someone instantly I had access to the telephone, however,
for the attachment of documents, written information, among others, were linked
only to the post office service, where information could take days, weeks and
take months to reach the final recipient. Today, in the age of technology, all of this can
to be done in a matter of seconds. (Chinarelli, 2012).
In the field of health, the use of computerization must be linked to the need for
speed and objectivity at work, not only in the evolution of instruments and
machinery that facilitates the life of health professionals, just like in the part
administrative, which encompasses sales control, report management, registration
of clients and medications, among several other features that make it easier
the life and work of people who use computerization in this field.
1.1.2 JUSTIFICATION OF THE THEME

The need to find viable solutions to meet the need for

improving the management of Farmácia da Luz 3 motivated us to spare no effort in
present an appropriate solution for the situation of the Pharmacy in question, which is the
need for a stock management system that allows issuing invoices, reports,
register products, users, clients, suppliers and to facilitate and increase the
quality of the services at Farmácia da Luz 3, given that we are in an era
digital/technological, it is necessary to automate and ensure the security and integrity of
data, also facilitating the work of the employees.
1.1.3 DELIMITATION OF THE THEME
The project will be limited to the process of stock management, sales, and registration of
users, products, suppliers, issuance of reports and invoices.
Being a Desktop application, it has some limitations due to its nature such as
like:
1.1.4 FORMULATION OF THE PROBLEM

private establishment for the sale of medicines and other products that are part of
the basic needs of the surrounding population. It has existed for more than 3 years, but does not

report issuance. The lack of a system has caused a lot of embarrassment in
issuance of the financial report, in stock control and in customer service. As the

1.4 STRUCTURE OF THE WORK

The work is organized in the form of chapters. The first chapter presents a
introduction about the subject and its objectives, with the aim of providing the
necessary information for your understanding. The second chapter describes the
concepts that are part of the theoretical foundation of this work. The third chapter
it deals with the implementation of the system, detailing the specification and development of

same. It still brings the operationality of the system, shows the techniques and tools
used to develop the system. The fourth chapter presents the conclusions, well
as suggestions for other future work.
CHAPTER II: THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
This chapter addresses topics to be presented in the following sections, which
fundamentals the development of the desktop pharmacy management application, such as
Health
information, Information System in Pharmacies, Related Works and State
art.

2.1 HEALTH
Health is a fundamental human right and one of the main indicators.
of development and the quality of life of populations, having consequences
directly in the present and future of individuals, communities, and countries. (CAPSA, 2016).

In this way, health is considered one of the elements of quality of life and a
the objective conditions for human development, and not as its
set. From this point of view, health must be identified as vitality
psychic-physiological, that is, as a psychophysiological capacity for active exercise of
each individual for their fulfillment in life. Health, psychobiological capacity, is,
certainly, a partial condition for individuals' fulfillment in life, a
condition that, at the same time, encompasses and is conditioned by the determinations of
your existence as a biological being. (FARIA, 2009).

2.1.1 HEALTH IN ANGOLA

The health status of the Angolan population is characterized by low life expectancy.
at birth, high rates of maternal and infant mortality, a heavy burden of diseases
transmissible and increasing chronic and degenerative diseases as well as mortality
avoidable premature.

Despite the efforts of recent years, the health sector remains underfunded, which
it has not allowed consistent advances, especially in the more isolated areas.
The total health expenses are calculated at 5% of GDP. The expenditures
government spending on health accounts for only 4.1% of total expenditure, which is
relatively low even when compared to the average of African countries
Sub-Saharan - 9.5%. Public spending on health was, in 2005, 1.5% of GDP.
while with education it represented 2.6% and with military expenditure 5.7%.

The Health Service System of Angola has three levels. The first level is

PHARMACY
The word "pharmacy" derives from the Greek term pharmakon which takes the meaning of
medicine. This term is associated with the Greek goddess Pharmakis who was the holder of knowledge.

2.2.1 CLASSIFICATION OF PHARMACIES

Pharmacies are classified according to their nature as:
I - pharmacy without manipulation or drugstore: dispensing establishment and
drug trade, medications, pharmaceutical inputs and related items in their
original packaging;
II - pharmacy with compounding: establishment of formula compounding
master's and official, drug trade, medications, pharmaceutical supplies and

to work, since they do not sell the medications.

2.2.3 DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PHARMACIES AND DRUGSTORES

Even though both sell medications, there is a difference between a drugstore and a pharmacy.
Both are establishments for the dispensing and trade of drugs, medications,
pharmaceutical supplies and related items in their original packaging. However,
Pharmacies will be able to carry out broader activities than drugstores.

The pharmacy is an establishment for the preparation of magistral and officinal formulas,
trade in drugs, medications, pharmaceuticals and related materials,

or any other equivalent medical assistance.

sells industrialized products and some other items, such as cosmetics, supplements of
first-aid and even convenience items.
However, a drugstore can also be referred to as a pharmacy, because it contains a laboratory.
inside it, however, these are rare cases, since most drugstores only
markets the medicines.

2.3 HISTORY OF PHARMACY

The mission of pharmaceutical practice is to provide medication and other products and services.
for health and to help people and society use them in the best possible way.
(WHO report, p. 4, 1996).

Until the early 20th century, the pharmacist was the reference professional for
society in relation to the medication, acting and exerting influence on
All stages of the medication cycle. At this stage, in addition to storage, distribution and
dispensation of the medication, the pharmacist was also responsible for the preparation
from, practically, everything
o arsenal available (GOUVEIA, 1999).
At first, there was a distancing of the pharmacist from these
establishments.

Over time, it became clear that it is the doctor's responsibility.

for the results of pharmacotherapy and, to the pharmacist, provide support services
adequate and specialized knowledge about the use of the medication.
According to Bonal (2001), the pharmacist is the last professional to intervene before that
the user takes their medication, which places them in a position of authority
which should be utilized for the benefit of the individuals assisted by the healthcare system.
Recognizing this opportunity, in the 1990s, Hepler and Strand, in the USA,
they propose a new model of patient-centered action, called Attention
Pharmaceutical.

In this way, the path to be recommended for pharmacies to become

characterized as health establishments is the provision of assistance
effective pharmaceutical, in which the pharmacist is the main agent in ensuring the use
safe and effective use of medications by the population.

2.3.1 THE PHARMACY IN THE WORLD

The Ebers Papyrus, dated 1550 B.C., contains over 8,000 medicinal formulas.
(DIAS, 2006).

The first pharmacy, called Botica, was only opened in 754 BC.
Baghdad, current Iraq (FCFRP-USP, 2006).

Galeno (122-199 AD), considered the 'Father of Pharmacy', proposes a theory in

which medications should have properties opposite to the causes of the disease
to be able to combat it (BARROS, 2002; DIAS, 2006).
In the 19th century, the first Schools of Pharmacy emerge in universities and
also the first laws and regulations, as well as some codes of ethics.
(ZUBIOLI, 2005).

Important therapeutic discoveries of the 1930s and 1940s, related to

antimicrobials, drove the scientific community in the search for new
methodologies, starting the process of growth in the industrial sector. With this, the
compounding pharmacies were no longer necessary, as the medications already came
ready in the form of pharmaceutical specialties (ANGONESI, 2008).

The Code of Ethics of the American Pharmacists Association (AphA), established in 1952,
that pharmacists could not discuss the therapeutic effects of
medications with the patients and that they should refer them to the doctor or
dentist, in case there were any doubts.

Questions about the social function of pharmacies have begun to arise.

1969, with the modification of the professional Code of Ethics in the US, the pharma-
therapists were encouraged to make available to each patient all of their
skills and knowledge.

The global movement to revalue the role of pharmacists in assistance to

health gained momentum with the report from the World Health Organization (WHO)
titled 'The Role of the Pharmacist in the Health Care System', prepared
in December 1988.

In 1990, Hepler and Strand published a paper in the journal Hospital Pharmacy
what would influence the entire pharmaceutical profession in the following years: Opportunities
Opportunities and responsibilities in pharmaceutical care
pharmaceutical attention). These authors argue that community pharmacists
they must be prepared to take on the responsibility of preventing morbidity and mortality
related to the irrational use of medications and adopting a patient-centered approach
patient. This new model of action has been called 'Pharmaceutical Care',
Translated into Portuguese as 'Pharmaceutical Care'.

it was the same with the publication of "Computers and Automation," from November 1966,
that already brought up topics discussed until the present days.

The text that popularized the term was written by Rudy Stiefel, president of the firm of

At that time, computers were much larger than today's PCs, they were

In the mid-1960s, however, this scenario was changing, just like the whole
market. This is what "Computers and Automation" highlighted in the article that popularized

2.5 INFORMATION SYSTEM IN PHARMACIES
Computerization is very important for reducing work time, greater
reliability and speed in the production of information, particularly in relation to
health system, which is complex and has numerous components. The use of
Computer science in a pharmacy service aims to facilitate the pharmacist's actions,
improving patient access to faster and updated information; facilitating the
stock management providing better access to acquisition statistics,
waivers and stock sizing; and achieve maximum efficiency with the least
cost when better evaluating the workload and distributing resources (BRAZIL, 1994).
The computerization of the pharmacy provides, more quickly, various information that
they can facilitate management, such as working hours, the number of professionals
involved, the data of each medication, its validity, storage conditions,
the cost control per patient or per ward, among others (BRAZIL, 1994).
Computer science can contribute significantly to distribution (dispensing).
two medications, regardless of the chosen system, with the system that presents
the best yield is that of unit dose. The computerized system reduces the possibility
of medication errors and also allows unused products to be returned to
pharmacy stock, generating savings for the institution (BRAZIL, 1994).
Even in collective dispensing systems, computerization brings various
benefits, such as automatic stock replenishment, product coding and
use of forms. Regarding information about medications, the use of
Computer science is essential for access to the various existing catalogs (BRAZIL, 1994)
CHAPTER III: METHODOLOGY, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF
RESULTS

This chapter presents the characteristics of the developed system. Furthermore, they are
described the gathering of information, analysis, and interpretation of the data,
specification of functional and non-functional requirements, the use case diagrams and
the activity diagram. The modeling of the diagrams was done using the tool
Visual Paradigm for UML. For modeling the Entity-Relationship Model
(MER) used the MySql Query Browser tool. The
techniques and tools used in the implementation process, the operability of
system and the results obtained.

3.1 TYPE OF STUDY

This research is based on bibliographic research. As for its nature, it is research.

Applied because it is motivated by the solution of concrete problems,
practical and operational and is also called empirical research, as the researcher
you need to go to the field, talk to people. As for the approach to
the problem is qualitative and descriptive research, as it is concerned with describing the
phenomena through the meanings that the environment manifests. As for the objectives
Descriptive research is that which analyzes, observes, records, and correlates aspects.
(variables) that involve facts or phenomena, without manipulating them. As for the
technological procedures is a field study because the problem is a reality in
which needs to be deepened through direct observation, if the explanations were captured and
interpretations of what occurs in that reality.

3.2 METHODS AND INSTRUMENTS USED FOR DATA COLLECTION

The scientific method used is: observation because it is the visualization of a fact or
phenomenon, repeatedly and, problematization because it corresponds to the execution of
Questioning about the observed fact. Technique used: Sample - where it worked -
only with part of the universe, as only the people involved in the process
were interviewed.
The instrument used for data collection was the structured interview.
where the information was obtained through previously formulated questions.

3.3 PROCESSING AND HANDLING OF INFORMATION

The process and treatment of all information was done using the tools Word, Excel.
the Visual Paradigm for UML.
3.4 GATHERING INFORMATION

The developed solution arose from the need to automate and improve the
inventory management services, control of entries and exits, issuance of invoices and
reports, product registration, clients, user control, and data security
from the Pharmacy. A system was developed for the management of the pharmacy, in such a way
to facilitate the control of activities in the Pharmacy of Luz 3. It was taken into consideration
requirements such as ease of use, interactivity, task automation, agility
in communication and data integrity.
The proposed system allows the manager to register products, users, companies,
suppliers, grant permissions to users, issue reports and to users issue
invoices, reports.
Currently, the Pharmacy has no management system.
To ensure the security of the pharmacy's private information, the system has the
access control according to the user profile. This way, each type of
user registered with the necessary permissions to carry out their work.

3.5. ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

3.6 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The requirements describe what the system should do. They are classified into
functional requirements and non-functional requirements. Functional requirements are
features that the system must have and the behavior of the system in
specific situations, and may also specify what the system should not do.
Non-functional requirements are constraints on the services or functions provided by
system, such as usability, hardware, security.
Table 1 presents the functional requirements planned for the system and its
traceability, that is, link to the associated use case(s).

relational database. This type of database emerged in the early 1970s, following the
rules defined by Edgar Frank Codd. In addition to being relational, MySQL is multi-user and
multitasking, besides being open-source software and having a wide and complete
documentation (TONSIG, 2006). MySQL has a dual license policy, or

Scrum is a management methodology for controlling the work to be carried out.
development of software, in turn seeks to reduce the complexity of
development processes of the same, so that the team can focus on the construction
of software that meet the needs of businesses ([Link], 2020).
Scrum works with the definition of objectives that must be completed in a
defined period. These periods are called cycles or sprints, representing a
time interval, within which a set of activities must be executed
([Link], 2014). A distinguishing feature of the methodology in
the issue is how the functional requirements are collected. The requirements are
obtained in meetings with the entire development team and the client, when is
a set of requirements is formed, these are called the product backlog.
Backlog is made up of stories, which come from the English user stories (PHAM and PHAM,
2012). These stories are simple descriptions that describe a functionality and are
It is advisable that they are written from the user's perspective (PHAM and PHAM,
2012). In the planning meeting, which takes place before the start of a sprint, part of the
Stories are extracted from the backlog to form a sprint backlog.
Next, the team defines the tasks that they will be able to implement in the current cycle.
During each day of the sprint, the team holds a meeting (usually in the morning), which
are called Daily Scrum. The purpose of this meeting is to disseminate the
knowledge about what was done the day before, identify the impediments and
prioritize work for the day that begins ([Link],
2014). After the end of each sprint, a part of the system is delivered to the client so that
the same can then carry out the verification and validation. During this delivery, new
stories may arise, seeking correction of errors or the implementation of new ones
functions that were not suggested in the first phase. Thus starting a new cycle of
sprint. The choice of the Scrum methodology for this project was made in search of a
better organization for the requirements proposed by the client and for encouraging a
quick feedback on the developed features. Also, the Scrum
helps to avoid bureaucracies imposed by excessive documentation, which could
compromise the progress of development, especially because the author of this
the project is the sole responsible and executor of all stages corresponding to the
development. Thus, it is expected that through this methodology to make a
better monitoring of the progress of the work.
