METHODOLOGY
1. Starch extraction:
2. Production of bioplastic:
SCHEDULE
The planned days for this research are disclosed according to the
next schedule:
DEVELOPMENT OF THE
RESEARCH
PROCEDURE FOR STARCH EXTRACTION
As the starch strips are obtained from the peels, they are placed.
on the grills, to be dehydrated.
Milling, crushing and sieving
Once dehydrated, the strips are crushed and ground to obtain a kind of
of dust. Finally, the dust was sifted to obtain a granulometry
homogeneous.
To verify if starch was indeed being obtained, steps were taken to place
iodine drops on screened product samples. The appearance of some type
dark coloration, as a result of this procedure, is indicative of the
presence of starch in the substance.
First, the extraction of starch from banana peels was carried out.
Next, we proceeded with the production of the bioplastic, for which we applied
different techniques studied and researched in a group, with
anticipation.
The obtained bioplastic exhibited physical, chemical, and ecological properties.
appropriate, that will greatly care for the planet
Of all the methods for manufacturing bioplastics tested in this project
the one made with vinegar and glycerin managed to stand out, as it was observed
which exhibited good mechanical properties, such as flexibility and
resistance.
The drying temperature was constant, to provide it with a characteristic.
uniform.
