What is a process?
A process is a sequence of activities, where its elements are transformed.
to obtain something new.

It has 3 elements that are: INPUT, PROCESS, and OUTPUT

Process Map
It is a graphical representation of the general processes of the company. This Map of
Processes are used to have an overview of the internal processes that the
company and is drawn considering three totally differentiated types of processes.

Processes can be classified into three categories: Strategic processes, processes


operational and support processes.

Strategic processes: They are processes aimed at defining and controlling goals for the
organization, its policies and strategies. They allow the organization to move forward.
They are very closely related to the organization's mission/vision. They involve
top-level personnel of the organization.

They affect the organization as a whole. Examples: Internal/External communication,


Planning, Strategic formulation, Monitoring of results, Recognition
and reward, Total quality process, etc.

Operational processes: These are processes that allow the generation of the product/service that
delivery to the customer, which directly impacts the satisfaction of the end customer.
They generally go through many functions. They are processes that customers value and
the shareholders.
Ejemplos: Desarrollo del producto, Fidelización de clientes, Producción, Logística
integral, Customer service, etc. The operational processes are also referred to as
key processes.

Support processes: They support operational processes. Their clients are internal.
Ejemplos: Control de calidad, Selección de personal, Formación del personal,
Purchases, Information Systems, etc. Support processes also receive the
name of support processes.

Once all the major processes of the organization have been identified, they are
they are represented in a process map. Please note that the classification of the
processes of an organization in strategic, operational, and support will come
determined by the organization's mission, its vision, its policy, etc.
