Newton's Second Law: Candle Experiment

This document describes an experiment on how water rises inside a bottle when a candle is lit underneath it. The experiment shows how the combustion of the candle consumes the oxygen inside the bottle and increases the air pressure, causing some of the hot air to escape from the bottom of the bottle in the form of bubbles. This causes the water to be drawn upwards inside the bottle until the air pressure inside and outside equalizes, extinguishing the candle due to lack of oxygen.

SECOND LAW OF NEWTON
THE SAIL AND THE RISING WATER
Objective:
This experiment presents a chemical phenomenon that is the
combustible where the fuel is paraffin releases a molecule of
carbon dioxide and water in addition to large amounts of energy in
form of heat and light that we pursue in the flames of the candle the dioxide of
carbon, being less than that, remains above the remaining oxygen
that the candle cannot reach him, it goes out, you can also see the bottle
fogged due to the water molecules released condensing.
However, the phenomenon that explains the security of absorption is physical and
no chemical, when lighting the candle in addition to combustion the air increases
its temperature leads to the pressure of the gas inside the bottle
increases and part of that gas comes out from the bottom of the bottle,
bubble shape until the hot air pressure equals the pressure of the
external air, the candle goes out due to lack of oxygen, the air inside the bottle
It starts to cool down and the pressure will decrease.

Materials:
Phosphorus
Water
A glass dish
A Candle
A bottle
Procedure:
The candle is lit and stuck to the glass plate, then it is given
Put water on the plate and then the bottle will be placed there.
that the bottle is already placed we will see how the candle goes
turning off and as the water rises towards the bottle
Conclusion:
To see a combustion, there has to be oxygen since it is what
that burns once the confusion has begun
it will last until it runs out of all the oxygen
You can see how the water was absorbed. This happens.
since the force exerted by the candle is directed upwards and this
causes water to have an acceleration in it
direction in which the force acts, this makes the oxygen
finally and the pressure creates a kind of absorption and the water
rise, also so that we know why the phenomenon occurs,
the candle flame needs oxygen to burn, but when
the oxygen inside the bottle runs out the flame of the
the candle goes out. The water rises because of the change in the
Temperatures inside the bottle also change the pressure.
