ASSEMBLY AND DISASSEMBLY OF ENGINE
When an engine reaches the end of its useful life, it loses performance or sometimes even
At least it works. Chevrolet is a good example of an engine manufacturer with
loyal customers. Because their 350 engines are easily repaired and produce
a lot of power, these became very popular in the automotive industry
sporty. The Chevy 350 engine remains one of the most rebuilt,
improved, prepared and reformed from history. One of the reasons for this is
because they are easy to repair.
Loosen and remove all the screws from the top of the engine including the cover.
of valves, the intake manifold and the fuel pump. Remove all the
components of the block and set them aside. Remove the pushers and the axles from the
valves from each cylinder head and set them aside.
Turn the block to one side in order to access the crankcase and the crankshaft, and thus
to be able to remove them from the engine before continuing with the repair of the Chevy 350.
Removing all the internal parts of the engine will give you access to the pistons and
bearings, which when replaced or ground will be what will make the
repair is good or very good.
Remove the engine oil pan and the crankshaft and its bearings will be exposed.
Remove the crankshaft pistons by loosening the base of the rods that hold each one.
piston and then remove the bearings that hold the crankshaft in place. Pull the
crankshaft out and set it aside.
Turn the engine back to the vertical position and remove the cylinder heads.
unfasten the bolts holding it. Remove any remnants of
the joints and clean the inside of the block using a good solvent. Before
continue with the following steps of the Chevy 350 engine rebuild,
clean the engine until it is free of any debris or dirt.
Polish the walls of each cylinder until the diameters of the cylinders
match. Repeat the process on each of the spouts. Burnish the walls of
the cylinders, until they are smooth and flat, will hold the pistons
perfectly aligned, thus improving the performance of the engine once it is
armed.
Grease the walls of the cylinders, the pistons, the tappets and around the
camshaft before starting to assemble the parts at the moment of
reassembly. Start assembling the engine from the bottom up and turn the engine over.
whenever you need to access the top or bottom of it. Lubricate
Tighten each piece generously and remember to adjust each bolt with the proper torque.
