GENERAL INFORMATION

III. INTRODUCTION
The ISC Positive Psychology course provides key theories and research in the field of psychology.

Positive: Resilience Skills with Dr. Karen Reivich and; the Specialization Project in Psychology
Positive with Dr. Martin E.P. Seligman. At the end of the course, students design and justify.

ISC Positive Psychology is an elective course, theoretical-practical in nature and distance (100% online), aimed at
to students from all regular undergraduate academic programs starting from the fifth cycle. The students
enrolled in this course have access to the micro courses of the International Specialization Courses (ISC) that
allows them to obtain, in addition to the certificates for each micro course of the program, the certificate of
specialization or professional certificate from an international institution. It is required to complete and obtain the
certificates of all the micro courses that make up this ISC, in addition to the final work of UPC, to pass and
obtain the academic credits for this course.
This course aims to contribute to the development of the general competence of Critical Thinking Level
2. And complementarily, it develops, at this same level, the general competence of Written Communication.
Additionally, students will acquire the specific competencies of the ISCs in which they enroll.

ISC Positive Psychology is part of the International Specialization Courses (ISC) elective course model;
which are composed of micro-courses that together make up a specialized program of a
international institution. In certain specific cases, the ISC has been divided into two UPC courses to dose the
contents and the number of hours required to complete the specialized program. The ISC provides to the
flexibility for students allows exploration of other fields of knowledge and gaining learning experience
international.
None of the International Independent Courses (IIC) and International Specialization Courses (ISC) - nor the
contents and micro courses within these portfolios - will be partially or fully valid for a course
mandatory regular, for an elective course of the mentions of the faculty programs, or part of them, nor for
other elective courses IIC or ISC of UPC; and vice versa.

VI. METHODOLOGY
The Educational Model of UPC ensures a comprehensive education, which is based on the development of
skills, which are promoted through a teaching-learning process where the student
plays an active role in their learning, constructing it from critical reflection, analysis, discussion,
evaluation, presentation, and interaction with peers, connecting it with their experiences and knowledge
previous.
This is a distance course, 100% online, of a theoretical-practical and self-directed nature. Students have
access to the micro courses that make up the International Specialization Courses (ISC) and in week 1 they must
register on the platform of each of the micro courses that make up this course.
To complete and obtain the certificate for each micro course of the International Specialization Courses (ISC), the
students must:

Read the assigned texts.
Complete and pass all questionnaires.
Complete and approve all tasks reviewed among peers or classmates of the micro course. The student also

Please note that completing and obtaining the grade for the peer-reviewed activity may take 7 to 10.
days or more, after the assignment due date. Students must start the courses and complete them
with the due notice regarding the deadline, since this activity depends on others
students. It is not the responsibility of Coursera or the UPC; therefore, if some evaluations remain unanswered
if not completed within the timeframe indicated in the UPC course schedule, the micro course will be considered incomplete

All the contents of each micro course are recorded and online, therefore, students can complete
the micro courses they have chosen at the time and place they wish.
Upon successfully completing each micro course, you will receive a certificate from an international institution.

To pass and obtain the academic credits for the course, the student must enroll, complete, pass and
obtain the international certificates for all the micro courses that make up the current ISC course, in addition
to carry out the final work of UPC.
Students will be able to develop and complete the micro courses, and obtain the certificate for each one, from the
week 1 up to the first day of week 15 (before the final evaluation week). During the week
16, from final assessments, students will be able to access the content, but the system will not allow them to obtain
the certificate.
It is important for the student to estimate the number of hours per week they should dedicate to each micro course.

EVALUATION
The course evaluations consist of the following activities:
a) DD - PERFORMANCE EVAL, which corresponds to the average of the grades obtained in each micro course
of the present ISC.
b) TF - FINAL WORK, which corresponds to the final evaluation UPC and consists of writing a two-page essay.
