Practical 1
Rapid Typing user Interface
Aim: To Identify and analyse the components of Rapid Typing User Interface.
Requirement: Rapid Typing Software
Procedure:

[Link] following controls are observed in the main window:
•Taskbar : It allows you to set or change the basic options to start a lesson (keyboard layout, level, lesson, and
background).
•Three horizontal buttons in the top-left corner ( Lesson, Statistics and
Lesson Editor) are used for switching between current lesson, User Statistics and lesson Editor.
•Text Panel is the area where the text to be typed is displayed.
•Lesson Control Panel includes several controls to pause/resume the current lesson, enable/disable sounds, and
adjust the sound volume.
•The virtual keyboard that will help you to learn touch typing with all ten fingers. You can customize its
appearance in the ' Lesson' section.

Practical 2
Interpreting Results in Rapid Typing
Aim: To interpret results in Rapid Typing.
Requirement: Rapid Typing Software
Procedure:
[Link] Rapid Typing Software.
[Link] the Basic lesson1 in the tutor.
[Link] Results dialog window displays your achievements in this lesson.
[Link] Results dialog window consists of two tabs called Rating and Errors.
•Rating tab: Here, you can review your metrics, words per minute, characters per Minute and accuracy in percentage.
In the text area, you can check your mistakes that occurred during the lesson.
The color indication is as follows:
•Green letters denote right inputs.
•Yellow letters stand for right inputs exceeding the acceptable timeframe.
•Red letters denote wrong inputs within the acceptable timeframe.
•Orange letters indicate wrong inputs that also exceed the acceptable timeframe.
•Error window/ detailed statistics: This tab shows your errors and delays percentage in the graphical view.
Conclusion: Successfully interpreted the results in Rapid Typing.

Analyze typing results in Statistics window
Aim: To interpret overall performance of the touch typists in Rapid Typing.
Requirement: Rapid Typing Software
Procedure:

[Link] on the Statistics button on the main interface.
[Link] the course “Introduction” and view the day wise statistics.
[Link] the results in graphical and tabular format.
[Link] the speed in WPM and CPM, Accuracy and keystrokes percentage.
Conclusion: Successfully interpreted the results in statistics window of Rapid Typing.
