In the previous weeks we have seen how man fell for the first time and
how did God dealt with man's first fall. And last week, we have seen
yung three ways on how God further deals with the fall of man. He
discipline Man through sufferings, along with sufferings ordained by
God, Adam also experienced the anticipated redemption. And the sixth
and final way that God used is that He closed the way for the tree of
life. So, all in all, counting the topics we had on previous weeks we
have seen that God used 6 ways to deal with Man's first fall. Tonight
we haven't go through yet how God dealt with Man's second fall,
instead tonight we have seen the caused on why man fell for the
second time. We all knew that during this time, man already has
already fallen because they ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of
good and evil. They already just awaiting death and their condition was
very pitiful at the time. However, God did have a promised to save
them, that is through the seed of the woman, diba as we have pursued
in the previous weeks. And Adam believed in that promised by naming
his wife, Eve which means living, because he believed that they will not
die. So Adam name his wife in such a way. What about eve? Is it Adam
who only believed in the good tidings proclaimed by God. Tonight we
can also that Eve also believed. Through how, through naming her son,
Cain, which means "acquired". Because she believed and thought that
she acquired what had God promised to them. When we were a child,
we were also clueless diba. And our parents taught us many different
things. Me I remembered taught me how to write my name for the first
time, she also taught me many things like what I should not do or do,
'yung mga do's and don'ts ba. And just how a normal parents raised
their children, Adam and Eve must have taught their children the
things that they knew, for example the gospel that God preached to
them. And we've seen tonight, that only Abel believed the gospel. But
before we go through let's have first a bird's eye view between these
two brothers. Adam and Eve had a first son, Cain, and another son,
which is the youngest named Abel. In verse 2, it indicates the
livelihood of these two brothers. Abel was a tiller a tiller of a sheep
meaning, his occupation, is what, he is a shepherd. Siya ay isang
pastol. On the otherhand, Cain was a tiller of the ground, which
indicates that he is what, he is a farmer, si cain ay magsasaka. And in
verse 3-4, the two brothers rendered their offering to Jehovah. Cain
offered the fruit of the ground, which means the fruit he harvested
from his farming. Meanwhilen si abel, he offered the firstlings of his
flocks. Meaning the fattest one that he was sheperding. In verse 5 we
can see that Jehovah rejected Cain's offering while he regarded Abel's
offering. And right here, from this point pa lang we can see, what is the
first cause of why men fell the second time around. And it's because of
an inward caused. We all know that the enemy will every trickery,
every deception to frustrates God's purpose in man. This time the
enemy used his subtle ways to keep Cain from God's way of salvation.
In a subtle way, Satan caused Cain to take His own way in worshipping
God, Satan gained cain and worked within Cain. The second is an
outward caused, Man exercised presumption in His offering to God.
Cain became presumptuous, He offered and served God according to
His own concept. Instead of taking God's way of salvation, from last
week we can see that God clothed Adam and Eve with animals skin, he
didn't want man to cover his own nakedness by sewing fig leaves,
because we all know, when time pass by these leaves will dried and it
will tear apart and then it will exposed again their nakedness.
However, Cain didn't learn from this and he didn't took God's way of
salvation. He offered coming from the fruit of his labor.
