6. Can you share some of the teaching materials or resources you commonly
used in your teaching career? (Except textbooks)

7. Can I get more information about these materials pls? The roles of these
materials during the English lessons?
Provide extra exercises for grammar and comprehension practice.
Offer sample texts and guided writing formats.

9. How you ensure all these materials or resources are suitable for all your
students in a particular classroom?
(a) Differentiate the materials. I often modify the same resouce to suit
different group of students according to their ability.
(b) I also reflect and record the learning standard achieved by each students
(PBD transit) so I know my students well and able to modify the resources
according to their ability.
10. Do you use any technology tools when teaching English? Except the basic
laptop, projector and speaker.
We have smartboard in every classroom so we will integrate technology and
website or apps which are suitable for learning English. For example, we use
google classroom, google forms, blooket, quizizz, kahoot in class to engage the
students and in the same time conduct assessment or do revision in a fun and
game-based format.
11. When choosing these materials or resources, what are the challenges you
faced? How you overcome them?
(i) Challenge 1: Some are too difficult for low-proficiency learners but too easy
for advanced students.
Solution: Pair weaker students with stronger ones in group work.
(ii) Challenge 2: Some students do not have access to devices at home
Solution: Print out the worksheet for those students
12. When using them during the lesson, what are the challenges you faced?
How you overcome them?
Some passive students may not learn actively throughout the lesson. Have
reward system in class and assign roles for each member in a group.
13. Compared to the traditional teaching materials or resources, how effective
you think technology materials or resources work when teaching English?

(iv) As a motivation to encourage students to learn
14. Please provide advices or suggestions about selecting appropriate teaching
materials as well as utilising them in ESL classroom.
Start with the curriculum to ensure the materials match the syllabus. Then,
know your learners and their learning styles. Try to use a mix of traditional and
tech-based resources and blend them both to cater different lesson and
classroom situations. Also, try to utilise the materials online and motivate
them to learn actively theough pair work or group work.
