THE COMPONENTS OF MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERATE TO AN INDIVIDUAL ARE
THE FOLLOWING:
Given all the consolidation of media companies, it is simple to doubt
whether the news we get from the major media is the full story or not.
After all, its not an erratic occation to hear more about the latest celebrity
scandal or death than a political uprising somewhere in the world.
a. Improved quality of life
One of the things that attracted people to social networking sites is the
instantaneous access to other sources of information. Media is very useful
for mounting our sources of content as a whole. With so much being
written, then curated and shared proactively, the amount of content has
grown exponentially. Now, there is no scarcity of sources from which we
can draw our own conclusions about what is really happening in the
world. Its less significant to have a news team construe if on our behalf.
Research has constantly found that people who consume more news
media have a better probability of being civically and politically engaged
across a diversity of measures. In a era when the public’s time and
b. Greater political
attention is progressively directed toward platforms such as Facebook
participation
and Twitter, scholars are seeking to assess the still-emerging relationship
between social media use and public engagement.
Social media brings politicians and parties closer to their potential voters.
Its allows politicians to communicate quicker and reach citizens in a more
targeted manner and vice versa, without the intermediary role and mass
media. Reactions, feedback, conversations and debates are generated
online as well as support and partaking for offline events. Messages
posted to personal networks are multiplied when shared, which allow
new audiences to be reached.
The accomplishment of social media is grounded on one thing and that is
conversation. When you use social media sites for your business, it allows
you to amplify the conversation that environs your brand. You must

sensibly and go very easy on the hard sell of your products and/or services
When social media was first moving to the vanguard of business people’s
minds, many considered it to be cost-effective technique of spreading the
word about your brand because of the wireness of their budgets. The full
potential of social media as a marketing tool was certainly not grasped at
the point. The choice by business people at the time to use social media as
a marketing device was because social media does not cost a lot of money
and nobody had a lot of money to spend.
Media can be a constituent of vigorous learning strategies such as group
discussions or case studies. It could be a film clip, a song you hear on the

radio, podcast of a lecture or newspaper article. Students can also create
environment
their own. For example, student video projects can be an influential
learning experiences.
It can be used in almost any discipline to improve learning, both in class
and also for out-of-class assignments. Short film and television clips,
written articles, and blog postings can be viewed to support concepts and
spark discussions. Songs ad music video, specially when the lyrics are
made available, can be used to the same outcome.
Back then phones were with old style dials. There weren’t even answering
e. More cohesive socialmachines. If you called someone and they didn’t answer the phone, you
unit had to call back and try to catch them in real time. When a call came in,
there was no caller ID. You just picked it up and said “ Hello.” It was
sometimes hard to catch up to people, so you had to hand write and send a
letter to communicate when you were both leading busy lives.
Today, if you can’t catch someone on the phone, you can leave a voice mail
or send a text. Or even better, Tweet, Facebook Message, or touch base in
some other means. You can see what other are doing within seconds
assuming they share it on a social network of some sort. It’s not hard to
catch up with someone if they wnat you to find them. All we have to do is

login to our platform of choice. We can rant, rave, tell jokes, share images,
it takes only a coouple of minutes to create a new blog and star putting our
thoughts into words. And those thoughts could grow legs of their own once
the social sphere grabs hold of them.
Its is far easier to do something remarkable and noticeable, and have it
reach people across the planet, that it has been at any time in our history.
We now have trully globalized voices. What a prvilege.
f. Influences of the Youth Social networkings services depend on active participations: users take part
in activities and discussions on a site, and upload, modify or create content.
This supports creativity and can support discussion about ownership of
content and data managment
Young people who use social networking services to showcase content-
music, film, photography or writing need to know what permissions they
are giving the host service, so that they can make informed decisions about
how and what they place on the site.
Users might also want to explore additional licensing options that may be
available to them within services to allow them to share their work with
other people in a range of ways.
Improved Learning Environment (The Advantages of Media for Students)

5
2. Students can sharpen their analytical skills by examining media using the theories
and concepts they are studying.
3. Students can experience worlds beyond their own, especially if the media are
sharply different from their local environment.
