 In your own words, define 21st Century Skills.

21st-century Skills refer to skills that are important in today’s world. In a school setting, these are
skills that contain knowledge, habits, or traits crucial to students’ success. These skills promote
media literacy, innovation, and information literacy. The age of the internet paved the way for large
amounts of information available and accessible to everyone and 21st-century skills would teach
people how to deal with this information and be beneficial to them.

 Why is it essential, as a teacher, to learn the expertise, skills, attitudes, and values
required to respond to 21st-century demands?

Education today is learner-centered and teachers need to respond to these requirements because
they are the ones who will guide, assess and help students acquire the knowledge they need to
develop their 21st-century skills. Teachers can model these skills by incorporating technology into
their way of teaching to make it engaging and relevant to the real world. It is a way for teachers to
adapt and be flexible to make learning fun.

 Characterize and briefly describe some of the core literacies of the 21st century.

The core literacies of 21st-century learning are- critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and
Creativity. The ability to be effective at reasoning and problem-solving are what critical thinking is
about. In today’s world, the work culture demands flexibility in analyzing problems and integrating
the availability of information into solving them. Communication is the ability to communicate
effectively. The presence of media all around us introduces us to a diverse environment and
communicating effectively promotes understanding. The 21st century demands innovation that would
introduce new products and services to people and it takes creativity to make it into reality. Some
progress will not be possible without collaboration. Collaboration is a big help in accomplishing work.

 Explain a person who is: in information and communications technology (ICT)

literate and media literate.

An information and communications literate person knows how to communicate with purpose, and
knowledge, and use information properly. They know where to get the information and use them
responsibly. They also incorporate the advent of technology in communicating and obtaining
information.

 Why is needed to incorporate the 21st Century Literacy Skills agenda into an
education delivery system?

The world today is more open and exposed to convenience and accessibility making people around
the world more connected. Incorporating 21st-century Literacy Skills helps students develop a more
globalized perspective of the world and improve the skills needed in the real world that are more
relevant to them to succeed.

A. What could it mean in your subject and grade level in the future?

21st-century skills would offer advancement and convenience to my students in the future. As high school
students learn Technology and Livelihood Education this could give them more access to information and
relativity to the real world. They can innovate their way of preparing foods and crafting ideas more
creatively. They can use the information available to their advantage and continuously improving skills.

B. How can you integrate these skills into your lesson plan?
The Four C's—Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity—are the focus of 21st-century
talents. I can incorporate this into my lesson plan by allowing students to express their opinions through
questions that can enhance their critical thinking and communication skills. Giving kids group activities will
improve their ability to cooperate as well. Their thoughts and creativity will be served by giving them an
alternative form of evaluation to the standard pen-to-paper.

C. What would these skills look like in your classroom?

A 21st-century skills classroom prioritizes questions to enhance students’ critical thinking, asking questions,
and reasoning. It is also creative and collaborative and updated.

LESSON 2 Analysis
What makes the learning process successful?

To make the learning process successful we first need to identify what works best for learners. We should
identify their way of learning. Some students prefer group activities, interactive activities, or something that
will retain their attention. Consider also the prior knowledge of learners. Catering prior knowledge of learners
will help them remember or recall new information. This will also help them focus their attention and encode
and recall new things in their memory.

What factor creates an ideal environment for learning?

A positive environment, a creative learning approach, and being away from unnecessary distractions
create an ideal environment for learning. This will allow students to effectively engage with the lesson and
make themselves feel comfortable. This type of environment encourages learners to allow their curiosity and
creativity to rule.

What is your ideal classroom environment?

Students should feel involved and confident in my ideal classroom. A setting where making mistakes is
not frowned upon because it is from the mistakes that we grow and improve. A setting where learners don't
perceive competition is essential. Although I don't want my learners not to be competitive, they should
observe a culture that values unity as well as empowering each other.

What classroom scenario is your greatest fear?

It’s not a scenario but my greatest fear in a classroom is when I don’t see students embody all the lessons. A
classroom does not reflect growth and improvement. That my students remain the same and there’s no mark
of learning.
How a teacher affects the mood of learners in the learning process?

By the nature of their personality, teachers can influence students' moods. Students will feel more upbeat
if their teacher is approachable and engages with them frequently; supporting and encouraging them will also
help. While pupils will feel fearful or less sound around a teacher who is serious or intimidating, doesn't
interact with the class as often, and feels more like an authority figure.

What do you think is your greatest asset as a teacher? Why?

My ability to engage students would be my greatest strength. Even though it might not be immediately
apparent, I prefer light environments where humor and imagination are present and where pupils are engaged
and self-assured.

LESSON 3 Analysis

How enhanced technology affects the learners in the learning process?

Enhanced technology opened the door for a more practical and engaging educational experience.
Through widely accessible technologies on smartphones and online, students may produce more creative
work, view videos to evaluate their learning, and easily obtain information. By searching and exploring,
students can also advance their learning or learn at their own pace.

How can enhanced technology teaching assist learners in their learning process?

Students can learn at their own pace and with the support they need with enhanced technology teaching
support for many types of learners. It enables pupils to look into various possibilities that would fit their
preferred learning method. Additionally, it gives kids quick and easy access to a wealth of knowledge that will
aid in their learning. Learning is also interactive which helps some students retain information easily.

LESSON 4 Analysis

 What conventional learning materials do you remember you and your teachers used in your classes?

 Textbooks, charts, model objects, and many more. We use textbooks back then often and charts to
visualize what is being described in the textbooks. Usually chats back then contains images that are
colored so helps describe.
 Are those materials helpful in your learning experience?

Yes, those materials helped me understand the lesson better when they incorporated charts or model
objects like globes. They were really helpful back then considering that I was young and having visual
representations of the lesson though not so advanced still contributed to the knowledge I gained.

 Based on the activity above, describe what conventional learning materials are.

Conventional materials are materials that existed before the age of the Internet. These materials are
utilized back then in the traditional way of learning. These are physical materials that can easily be
accessed by teachers and students.
 What do you think are the differences between conventional and nonconventional learning materials?

Conventional materials are the ones that can be held, seen, or touched by teachers and students.
They are materials that are physically present and used in a traditional classroom setting. While the
non-conventional ones are the modern ones. These materials exist in the age of the internet or digital
learning materials that are molded and enhanced by the advancement of technology. It includes
laptops, e-books, smartphones, and more.
LESSON 5 Analysis

 Can students learn via distance learning?

Yes, students can learn via distance learning especially if it is organized and designed properly.
Distance learning is an effective way of providing education without having to be physically present.
Distance learning done through online learning is still effective and convenient.

 What are the challenges we may encounter when we practice distance learning?

Distance learning nowadays is run by the advent of technology specifically it involves the internet. The
challenges we may encounter are technical issues like unstable internet connection, low internet
connection, and faulty devices and software. Distractions and computer knowledge. Distance learning
forces us to stay at home or go somewhere because we are in control of our time and there are things
we wanted to do or we are not in control of. Computer knowledge is also a challenge because not
everyone has access to technologies, especially in remote areas they experience a hard time with
being familiar with technologies.

 What are some of the platforms you know that help in distance learning?
Zoom and Google Meet are platforms I know for conducting online meetings. Canva is the one
commonly known that is used for creating presentations and projects. Youtube is used for video
references to deepen understanding of the lesson and tutorials on how to create certain activities.

 As a student who practices distance learning, what views can you share?
Distance learning is convenient and helpful. It enhances our knowledge in navigating various tools for
our activities and projects. Help us explore more about the advent of technology it also offers freedom
because you can conduct it everywhere that the internet is available but it’s a problem when the
connection is not cooperating ad you don’t have devices to use or it is only limited.

LESSON 6 Analysis

1. Why do you think it is essential for a teacher to have a deep understanding of how
to utilize technology in the teaching and learning process appropriately?

A teacher needs to have a deep understanding to utilize technology because it provides a

variety of methods to accommodate learning and it aids in making a smooth discussion while
still accommodating the learning style of students. Students have different learning styles
and incorporating technology will provide more tools to support students and increase the
likelihood that they will understand the lesson.

2. Why do you think it is essential to consider the relevance and appropriateness of

using technology in teaching?

Technology nowadays comes in different forms, and not everything related to technology is
helpful in teaching. Knowing the relevance and appropriateness of using technology in
teaching will protect teachers and students from the disadvantages of technology, keep
students engaged in the side of technology where they can gain knowledge, and support the
students learning.
3. Why do you think instructional material is important for teachers?

Teachers and students are guided by instructional materials to refrain from giving
memorization and recitation an excessive amount of importance. Additionally, it enables the
students to gain real-world experience that aids in the development of their concepts and
skills.

4. The textbook is an example of instructional material. What do you think are the
things that we need to consider in selecting instructional materials like books?

We should consider if it is timely and relevant because outdated books are not as beneficial
as updated books. After all, some book information is not related to the current world. We
should also make sure that it is relevant to the lesson to cater to the learning of students and
to make sure they could gain knowledge from it.
