Homework

1. Write the coordinates of a point on the x-axis which is equidistant from points
A(-2, 0) and B(6, 0)
2. Find a relation between x and y such that the point P(x, y) is equidistant from
the points A (2, 5) and B (-3, 7).
3. Find that value of k for which point (0, 2), is equidistant from two points (3, k)
and (k, 5)
4. Show that the points (1, 7), (4, 2), (–1, –1) and (– 4, 4) are the vertices of a
square.
5. If the distance between the points (4, k) and (1, 0) is 5, then what can be the
possible values of k ?
6. The x-coordinate of a point P is twice its y-coordinate. If P is equidistant from
Q(2, – 5) and R(– 3, 6), find the coordinates of P.
7. Find the ratio in which P(4, m) divides the line segment joining the points A(2,
3) and B(6, -3). Hence, find m.
