Information System Development

Information system (IS) development in software engineering is the process of


creating, modifying, and maintaining the systems that manage an organization's data
and information. It is a structured process guided by a systems development life cycle
(SDLC) that ensures the final product meets business requirements, is of high quality,
and is delivered on time and within budget.

Information system development differs from pure software development by


emphasizing the integration of hardware, software, data, and human resources to serve
specific business objectives.
