Dear Diary,
I read about a fascinating future where schools are replaced by robotic
teachers, and children learn at home through personalized teaching machines.
Margie and Tommy, the main characters, stumbled upon an old book that
described traditional schools where children studied together in a classroom. It
sounded so lively and fun!
Margie, who found her robotic teacher boring, thought the old system was
strange and inefficient. But I couldn’t help imagining how much joy she would
have felt if she experienced the camaraderie of a real classroom. If only her
robotic teacher could understand her feelings and adapt to make learning more
exciting, perhaps she wouldn’t dread school as much. What if Margie and
Tommy could experience recess, class projects, and lively discussions with
friends? It might have transformed their view of learning entirely.
This story made me realize how valuable human connections are in education.
It’s not just about learning facts but also about building friendships, sharing
laughter, and supporting one another. It’s a reminder to appreciate our school
environment and the opportunities it provides for growth and connection. As I
reflected on this futuristic depiction, I felt grateful for the balance of technology
and human interaction in our current education system. I hope that no matter
how advanced technology becomes, we never lose the essence of learning
together as a community.
The story also left me pondering what education would look like a century from
now. Would human teachers still play a role? Or would machines dominate
every aspect of learning? The future feels exciting yet uncertain. It raises

Dear Diary,
Evelyn Glennie’s story left me deeply inspired. Despite being profoundly deaf,

celebrated percussionists. Her ability to “listen” to music through vibrations is
nothing short of extraordinary.
I kept thinking, what if Evelyn had let her disability define her limits? The world
would have lost a brilliant artist and a powerful story of resilience. Her
determination to succeed against all odds is a testament to the human spirit’s
boundless potential.
Evelyn’s journey taught me that challenges are merely stepping stones to
success. With hard work and belief in oneself, we can overcome any obstacle.

sound and becomes a feeling that connects us all. I’ve started to wonder if we

Dear Diary,
Kezia’s story really made me think about how we perceive our parents. At first,
she was terrified of her father, thinking he was strict and unkind. But as the story
unfolded, she realized he loved her deeply and expressed it in ways she hadn’t
understood.
What struck me most was how Kezia’s fear turned into respect and affection
when she saw her father’s vulnerable side. I wondered, what if she had never
taken the time to understand him better? Their relationship might have
remained distant and cold. Moments like these remind us that relationships are

values. Reading about his groundbreaking theories, including the famous
equation E=mc², left me in awe of his intellect. Yet, what impressed me even
more was his moral courage to speak out against the misuse of science.
I couldn’t help but wonder, what if Einstein had stayed silent about the dangers
of nuclear weapons? His warnings to the world might have prevented even
greater devastation. His story showed me that true greatness lies not just in
intelligence but also in responsibility and compassion.
Einstein’s life inspires me to think about how I can use my own skills to
contribute positively to society. It’s a reminder that knowledge is a powerful
tool, and it’s up to us to wield it wisely. Reading this chapter made me reflect on

Dear Diary,
I read a story that was both terrifying and amusing. A doctor, who was vain and
often admired his own reflection, had a life-changing encounter with a snake.
The snake coiled around his arm, and for a moment, he was frozen with fear. But
instead of striking him, the snake became fascinated by its own reflection in the
mirror!
This story made me laugh at the doctor’s absurd thoughts during such a tense
situation. He even considered marrying a rich woman who wouldn’t be able to
catch him if he needed to run away! But it also made me think about how
unpredictable life can be. One moment, everything seems under control, and
the next, we’re faced with something completely unexpected.
This tale taught me to stay calm in the face of fear and to find humor even in
difficult situations. It’s a reminder that sometimes, laughter is the best way to
cope with life’s uncertainties. Reflecting on this, I realized that humor often
helps us navigate life’s challenges with resilience and grace. I also thought
about how vanity can sometimes blind us to the realities around us. This story
reminded me that while self-confidence is important, it should always be
balanced with humility.

Despite the challenges he faced, his parents encouraged him to dream big and
work hard to achieve those dreams.
What struck me most was his friendship with boys from different religious
backgrounds. It showed how unity and understanding can thrive even in a
society divided by social norms. I wondered, what if young Kalam hadn’t been
nurtured by such a supportive environment? India might have lost one of its
greatest visionaries.
This chapter taught me that our circumstances do not define our potential. With
determination and the right values, we can rise above any limitation. Dr. Kalam’s
story motivates me to aim high and believe in the power of perseverance.

Part – I: Santosh Yadav
Date: December 19, 2024
In this part of "Reach for the Top," I read about Santosh Yadav, a remarkable
mountaineer who became the youngest woman to climb Mount Everest. Her
story was inspiring and filled with determination. Despite facing many
obstacles, including difficult weather conditions and physical exhaustion,
Santosh’s passion for mountaineering pushed her to achieve what many
thought was impossible. Her journey was not easy, but her perseverance helped
her reach the summit.
I felt truly motivated after reading about Santosh. Her resilience and dedication
to her goal were incredible. It reminded me that no matter how tough the
journey may be, perseverance and hard work can help us achieve our dreams.
The moral of the story is that hard work and determination can help us
overcome the greatest of challenges. It shows us that success is not about

Chapter 9: If I Were You

Date: December 19, 2024
Dear Diary,
I read the chapter "If I Were You," and I was completely drawn into the
cleverness of the protagonist, Gerrard. The story revolves around a playwright
named Gerrard, who lives alone in his cottage. One day, a criminal enters his
home with the intention of killing him and assuming his identity. The robber
believes that Gerrard’s life is one of luxury and ease, and he sees an opportunity
to escape the law by replacing him.
However, Gerrard quickly realizes the danger he is in and decides to outwit the
robber using his intelligence. Instead of panicking, Gerrard remains calm and
starts a conversation with the robber. He uses his sharp wit and quick thinking
to convince the man that he, too, is a criminal on the run, hiding from the law.
Gerrard fabricates an entire story, describing how he is also a dangerous man
with a similar background to the robber’s, making the robber believe that he is
not just a playwright, but a criminal as well.
The turning point comes when the robber, who is already in a vulnerable state,
starts to believe Gerrard’s story. Gerrard goes a step further by pretending that
he has a secret plan to escape the police, and the robber, now convinced that
Gerrard is his ally, hesitates. Eventually, Gerrard manages to overpower him and
lock him in a cupboard, effectively neutralizing the threat.
As I read this chapter, I found myself on the edge of my seat. It was exciting to
see how Gerrard, who was initially in danger, used his intellect to solve the
problem and escape unharmed. What impressed me most was how Gerrard’s
calmness and confidence never wavered. He didn’t react with fear or panic;
instead, he analysed the situation and used his skills to turn it around.
