 Computer are being used more and more in education. What are the advantage
and disadvantage of this trend?
In recent times, technological advances in automation help improve
human’s life, especially there are many individuals using computer in
education. In my opinion, I believed this phenomenon bears both merits and
demerits, which will be further clarified in this essay.
The first advantage of this is that computer has supported in teaching
and learning. This is because worthwhile tool for education which has provided
a large information for study, student can get access easily information than
traditional learning measures due to an internet- connected laptop, leading to
having freedom to concentrate on their learning materials from anywhere. A
prime example for this is that internet has variety via such as Google or
Wikipedia where students can look up and gain in- depth knowledge thanks to
video or graphs. Moreover, internet help students interact with peers and
teacher easily due to online platform. It allows them to study when and
whenever they want, without the need to attend traditional classes, so people
possible to engage in various discussion.
In contrast, computers seem bring drawbacks to students. It is difficult for
children to focus on lessons, for they can be easily distracted online games or
movies. Many studies show that the overuse of social networking sites can
negative impact on students’ academic results. Moreover, when many
teenagers become addicted to social media, they do not involve in physical
movement, resulting in suffered from health issues such as eyesight and
obesity. In addition, student spend more time on internet interacting with each
other, this can reduce real-life friends who are willing to share joy and sadness
with us.
In conclusion, the positive aspects, such as the supporting people, and
detrimental aspects, including health affect, have been showed in this essay.
