thousands of Indian-Americans cheered the leader during his first U.S. visit.

SUMMARY

The US Today reported on Prime Ministers Modi’s speech mostly to the

Indian community in USA. However, despite covering his future plans for
India,USToday reported the news most on [Link]’s ban from the USA
eight years. Moreover, RT also reported the news based on Indian Prime
Minister Narendra Modi arrival in the US for his first official visit after a
nine-year visa ban over allegations that he failed to stop anti-Muslim
rioting when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat. In 2005, he was denied
entry to the US under a 1998 law barring entry to foreigners who have
committed “particularly severe violations of religious freedom.” Despite
the title of this article “ Modi’s India center of multipolar world - this
threatens US hegemony”, much of the article is focused on Modi’s past
than India’s place in the international society. Furthermore, the article by
CNN did discuss india and USA’s bilateral investments. This article has
somewhat seem to manage to focus on USA and India relations and plans
for future allies as opposed to how Modi seems to be in USA after
initially being banned as in the former articles.

SUMMARY

RT on Thursday reported on China’s warning to other countries in regards to the

Hong Kong protests. China’s foreign min ister mad e it clear Beijing would not
allow other countries to meddle into its ‘intern al affairs ’. Hong Kong affairs are
China's internal affairs ,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said. “ All countries
should respect China's sovereign ty. And this is also a basic principle governing
international relations . I believe for any country, for any society, no one will
allow those illegal acts that violate public order.”
Wang added he believed the current Hong Kong leadersh ip was able to handle the
large-scale sit-in s by itself . RT shed light on Chinas stand on the issue and its
expectation from the intern ation al commun ity however in the articles reporting
the same news, they only seem to focus on China threaten ing the USA instead of
Chinas messag e to all overseas countries. The Guardian focused on USA’s stand
on the issue much to the dismay of the Chinese. “ The United States and China
have clashed over the pro -demo cracy protests sweeping Hong Kong, with Beijing
warning Washing to n to back off and saying it would not tolerate “illegal
acts”.“ The Chinese governmen t has very firmly and clearly stated its position.
Hong Kong affairs are China’s intern al affairs,” Moreover, Aljazeera News shed
light on Hong Kong protesto rs and their situation .
