Each student is only allowed to study one subject from the list above.
a.) Give one advantage and one disadvantage to carrying out the survey using a stratified
sample.
b.) The sixth form college decides to take a stratified sample of 50 students.
Find the number of students to be sampled from each subject.

manufacturer uses a machine that turns the lightbulbs on and off until they break.
a.) Explain what is meant by a census.
b.) Give one reason why the manufacturer should use a sample rather than a census to test
the durability of the lightbulbs.
