SAMPLE WRITING TASK 1
The bar chart show the destinations of students graduating from Art and Design, and Physics courses
from a European country in 2007.
The given bar chart illustrates how many people with/having/holding a bachelor's degree in art & design and
physics chose different job choices in a non-defined European nation in the year 2007. Overall, more university
graduates in art and design studied higher (education) and worked part-time than physics counterparts while the
reverse was true for full-time employment, joblessness, and other decisions/ while the reverse was true for the
remaining categories/ In addition, working full-time was the most favorite option for people graduating in these
two majors.
Most graduates from two courses chose to work full-time, with a higher figure belonging to those with a physics
degree at just under 70 graduates compared to 40 graduates for Art and Design. A similar pattern was seen in the
"unemployed" and "other" categories, yet with lower figures. To be specific, an equal number of physics
graduates (over 30) chose these two options while 25 people who graduated from Art & Design courses were
either jobless or did other things after graduation.
In terms of continuing studying and working part-time after university graduation, Art and Design outnumbered
physics. 38 people holding a bachelor's degree in art and design pursued postgraduate education compared to 32
people with the same major doing part-time jobs. Such a gap between two options could be observed in physics
graduates, with 35 receiving postgraduate studies, which was 5 higher than those having part-time employment.
TOPIC: The world health organization recommends that people should eat five or more portion of fruit
and vegetables per day. The bar chart shows the percentage of males and females in the Uk by age group
in 2006
Regarding younger age groups, the percentages of men and women following this recommendation increased
with age, along with the gender gaps. This diet was the least common among the youngest age group, with
roughly 15% of either men or women. The figures for the 25-34 age bracket increased, with 22% of women as
opposed to 15% men. The upward trend sustained across those aged 45-54 and 35-44 whose shares of men
meeting the WHO’s recommended daily intake of fruit and vegetables were nearly the same, at approximately
22% each. However, the gender gap was bigger in the 45-54 age group, with 27% of women following this diet,
compared to 25% in the 35-44 group.
People between the ages of 55-64 led the chart, with 35% of women and 32% of men consuming five or more
portions of fruit and vegetables per day. This diet was the second most common among people aged 65-74, at
30% and 27% for men and women respectively. The popularity of this diet progressively declined with no
gender gap in the oldest group, with an equal percentage (25%) of men and women meeting the
recommendation.
SAMPLE 2: (chia theo gap)
The bar chart provides information on five different areas of expenditure in the UK and France in 2010. Overall,
the UK spent more money on cars, books and cameras, whereas France did so on the other two categories:
computers and perfume. It is also apparent that both these nations used the most money on automobiles, and the
biggest difference in expenditure was recorded in cameras.
Relatively more money was spent by the UK on cars, books and cameras than France. In both countries, cars
were the best-selling item with the UK spending just over 450,000 pounds, and France using 55,000 pounds
less. For books, the expenditure gap widened, but both countries expended less than they did on cars, at
approximately 400,000 and 300,000 pounds for the UK and France, respectively. The gap/ margin in spending
was the largest for cameras, with the figure for France being more than two times smaller (150,000 pounds)
than that for the UK (slightly over 350,000 pounds).
However, France's expenditures on computers and perfume were higher than the UK's. About 380,000 pounds
was spent by France on computers as opposed to 350,000 pounds by the UK, but the amounts for perfume were
a lot lower with the respective figures of 200,000 and just under 150,000 pounds.

people of both genders did on the Internet, while the reverse was true for research and education.
email topped the list, with more or less 70% of both genders doing so. Online shopping is another activity
where the percentage of women was higher than that of men, yet the figures were less than half of those for
email, at 38% and 25% respectively.
An opposite pattern could be seen in the other activities. 71% of men used the Internet to find goods and
services, which is 10% higher than females' figure in this category. Similarly, the percentage of males playing
online games was 64%, compared to 58% for females. The gender gap across the remaining purposes narrowed,
with respective gaps of 2% and 4% for chat rooms and research and education. While nearly a half of both
genders used chat rooms on the Internet, research and education attracted the lowest

TOPIC: The chart shows air pollution levels among four countries in 2012
The bar chart compares China, America, Japan and Australia in terms of the levels of air pollution caused by
electricity generation, transport and industry in 2012, measured in PPM.
Overall, China had the most polluted air while Australia's atmostphere was generally the least polluted
compared to other places. Besides, electricity generation produced the lowest levels of air pollution in all
countries, except Australia.
The primary reason for air pollution in China was industry, which released over 80 PPM of pollutants. The
amount of pollutants caused by the other two categories was also high, with 70 PPM from transport and roughly
60 PPM from electricity generation. A similar pattern can be seen in Japan's figures which were significantly
lower. In this country, nearly 45 PPM of pollutants was released by Industry, which made it become the leading
cause, while transport and electricity generated 30 PPM and over 25 PPM respectively.
The most significant gap between the levels of air pollution by three factors can be seen in America, where
transport surpassed two other causes, emitting approximately 60 PPM, nearly two times higher than the figure
for both electricity generation and industry. Meanwhile, the concentration of pollutants in Australia were
relatively the same, at nearly 20 PPM for all three factors/ never exceeding 20 PPM for all three factors.

and 77% of women. Spending time with family followed closely, but women showed a slightly higher
participation rate of 76% compared to 75% for men (hoặc Spending time with family followed closely, with
women slightly more engaged (76% vs. 75% )). The gender gap widened in terms of doing sport/ exercise and
reading whose figures showed similar patterns. Approximately 75% of men were drawn to either of these
activities while the share of women expressing a preference for these two was the same, at 73%.
Regarding the other three leisure activities, they exhibited gender- based preferences. Specifically, going
shopping was a female- dominated activity/ Shopping was predominantly a female activity, with close to 75%
of women doing so in their free time, more than double the participation rate of men. In contrast, males
dominated Internet usage, with approximately 75% involvement, twice higher than the female Internet usage
rate. Meanwhile, playing computer games was the least preferred activity by both genders, and it was more
prevalent among men than women, with respective participation rates of 20% and 18% (hoặc Playing computer
games was the least preferred activity by both genders, with men showing slightly more interest (20% vs.

TOPIC: The chart below shows the expenditure on three categories among different age groups of
residents in the UK in 2004 04/03/2023-3/7/2023
SAMPLE: Chia theo đối tượng khi không có hai tiêu chí cùng pattern (highest-lowest):
The given bar chart compares five age groups based on their percentage of expenditure on three categories,
namely food and drink, restaurant and hotel, as well as entertainment in the UK in the year 2004. Overall,
people aged 61 and above spent the most on food & drink and entertainment while entertainment was the main
spending area of the youngest group. In addition, when people in the Uk grew older, the shares of food & drink
and entertainment generally became more significant, while the reverse was true for restaurants & hotels.
In terms of expense for food and drink and entertainment, its pattern across age groups were similar. Those
below 30 years of age only spent 6% on food and drink (the smallest spending area) and 7% for entertainment.
The proportions of these two expenses generally increased with age. While food and drink accounted for the
largest spending of people aged over 30, save the 61-75 age group who spent the most money on entertainment
(23%), people aged 76 and over showed the largest spending on food and drink (23%) and a fall in spending on
entertainment.
The percentages of spending on restaurants and hotels followed an opposite pattern. This expense was the
largest among the under-30s, accounting for nearly 15% of their budget. However, this number decreased when
people grew older, with people aged 31-45 and 46-60 both spending 12% on it. Restaurant and hotel only
comprised an insignificant portion of the budget of 61-75-year-old people (2%) while 8% of the total spending
of the oldest group was on restaurant and hotel.
C2: chia theo nhóm tuổi (similarities- differences):
Those below 30 years of age only spent 6% and 7% of their total budget on food and drink, and entertainment
respectively, half of the spending for restaurant and hotel (approximately 15%). For people aged 31-45, food
and restaurant became the largest spending area, accounting for 14%, slightly ahead of restaurant and hotel
(12%) and entertainment (8%).
When people grew older, their spending patterns were more similar. People aged 46-60 and 76% followed a
relatively similar spending pattern, with food and drink making up the largest proportion of their budget (16%
for the former and 23% for the latter) and entertainment being the second largest expense (more or less 13%).
These two expenses swapped their ranking positions among 61-75-year-old people who spent the most on
entertainment (23%) and the second most on food and drink (20%). Restaurant and hotel was consistently the
smallest expense of people aged 46 and above, with 61-75-year-old people spending only 2% of their budget on
this category.
TOPIC: The graph below gives information about the common activities children ages in the United
States do as part of their bedtime routines. (03.05.2024)
Chia the activity:
Body 1: reading+having a bath+ eating less common with age
Body 2: brushing teeth and watching TV
Or
Body 1: reading+ brushing teeth+having a bath
Body 2: watching TV+ eating
The bar graph illustrates the percentages of children in three different age groups in the United States who
participate in various activities as part of their bedtime routines. Overall, reading emerges as the most popular
bedtime activity across all age groups, while watching TV and eating are less common. Additionally, the
percentage of children engaging in most activities generally decreases with age, with the exceptions of brushing
teeth and watching TV, which show an upward trend.
One striking trend in the data is the prominence of reading/ the consistent popularity of reading, with the highest
participation among 1-3-year-olds (over 70%) and slightly lower rates among older children (65% for 4-5 and
just above 60% for 6-8-year-olds). Next are brushing teeth and having a bath, which show opposite trends
across the three age groups. Like reading, having a bath is more common among younger children, with over
40% of 1-3-year-olds doing so as part of their bedtime routine, but this percentage decreases to around 32% in
the 6-8 age group. In contrast, brushing teeth becomes more frequent as children get older. Slightly more than
30% of 1-3-year-olds brush their teeth before bed, while this rises to 45% for 4-5-year-olds and over 50% for 6-
8-year-olds, indicating the development of better hygiene habits with age.
Regarding less common bedtime activities, eating is the least frequent overall, with the only exception of the
youngest group, where 20% of them eat before bed. Watching TV is also relatively uncommon but it becomes
slightly more popular with age. While a mere 18% of 1-3-year-olds watch TV, this increases to exactly 20%
among 4-5-year-olds, slightly ahead of the oldest group
