Static Routing Configuration Guide

The document outlines a procedure for building a simple network topology and configuring it for static routing using Cisco Packet Tracer. It details steps for setting up IP addressing, subnetting, and routing between two networks. The experiment concludes with a successful network test by sending a PDU from one PC to another across the configured networks.

Branch : TE Computer Engineering Batch : B
Experiment number : 4
Statement : Static Routing

AIM : BUILD A SIMPLE NETWORK TOPOLOGY AND CONFIGURE IT FOR STATIC

ROUTING PROTOCOL USING CISCO PACKET TRACER. SETUP A NETWORK AND
CONFIGURE IP ADDRESSING, SUBNETTING, MASKING.

PROCEDURE :

STEP 1: Install Cisco Packet Tracer on your PC.

STEP 2: Drag 3 PCs, 1 Switch, & Router 4321 to the working window.
STEP 3: Select IP Scheme for this Network (Here, [Link])
STEP 4: Make Connections using Copper Straight Through Wire.
STEP 5: Set IP Address of PC0 as [Link] (depending on IP Scheme). Left Click on PC Desktop
IP Configuration Enter Desired IP Address.
STEP 6: Note Subnet Mask of PC0 [will be same for entire network] (Here, [Link]).
STEP 7: Similarly, change IP Address of PC1 & PC2 to [Link] & [Link] respectively.
STEP 8: Change IP Address of Router0 to [Link] Left Click on Router Config
GigabitEthernet0/0/0 Enter Desired IP Address.
STEP 9: Check the ON checkbox for Port Status.
STEP 10: Set Default Gateway of PC0, PC1, PC2 as IP Address of Router0 {[Link]}Left Click
on PC Desktop IP Configuration Enter Desired Default Gateway
STEP 11: Similarly, set-up Network 2 with 3 PCs, 1 Switch, & Router 4321, with IP Scheme
[Link]
STEP 12:Now, for Router-Router connection, set-up NIM-2T in Router0 Left Click on Router
Physical NIM-2T Click on Switch to turn it off Drag NIM-2T from bottom to the empty
space Click on Switch to turn it on
STEP 13: Similarly, set-up NIM-2T in Router1
STEP 14: Make Serial DCE connection to both Routers. Select Serial0/1/0 port on both routers
forSerial Routers.
STEP 15: Set-up WLAN IP Address in Router0 [Separate IP Scheme from Network 1 & 2] (Here,
[Link]). Left Click on Router Config Serial0/1/0 Enter Desired IP Address.
STEP 16: Check the ON checkbox for Port Status.
STEP 17: Similarly, set-up Router1 with IP Address [Link]
STEP 18: Set-up Static Routing from Router0 to Router1 by entering details about Router1 such
as Network IP Scheme {[Link]}, Subnet Mask {[Link]} & WLAN IP Address {[Link]}
Left Click on Router0 Config Static (under Routing) Enter Router1 Details Add Network
STEP 19: Similarly, Set-up Static Routing from Router1 to Router0 by entering details about
Router0 such as Network IP Scheme {[Link]}, Subnet Mask {[Link]} & WLAN IP Address
{[Link]} Left Click on Router1 Config Static (under Routing) Enter Router0 Details
Add Network
STEP 20: Network successfully created. Now, test network by sending PDU from PC0 (Network
1) to PC5 (Network 2).

CONCLUSION :
Hence, we have successfully built a simple network topology and configured it for static routing
protocol using Cisco Packet Tracer. setup a network and configure IP Addressing, Subnetting,
Masking.
OUTPUT :
STATIC ROUTING
